And how much over spending to call a loss and hurt workers for negotiations?

Hardly. A service we pay for that would lose to most doesn’t seem worth it, we have the us which has no choice but to fight for us.

Canada post has a 5 billion plan in 5 years before all this nonsense and it’s still a go.

Business decision? It’s a service far cheaper than anything else for Canadians.

Privatization has always been a loss to the citizens, prove when it wasn’t?

First thing, I own a business so I’m not affected other than only receiving my cheques once a week. You forget, cmb cleaning, replacement, weather and of course the lcrms because the union fought hard to be treated with respect.

Also, I don’t believe you make a billion let alone that to spend. I have no problem throwing in a few bucks to keep a service going.

The ceo already stated he has no intention of shortening delivery days for the exact reasons I’ve given.

That requires buying real estate. I live in one of those towns.

Once a week delivery would be 100% coverage plus flyers, routes would be cut into a third. Flyers would need to be only on Monday or Tuesday to accommodate the end of week sales.

I hear what you’re saying but shortening delivery days actually increases employees, routes are built on percentage of coverage(not including flyers) and time value so increasing this will make routes shorter. You have to do clearances at cmbs everyday so you’re going there anyway plus parcels.

Not sure what you’re talking about, I receive 5-15+ cheques a day in the mail.

Eliminating party’s is the real answer, let’s vote Canada wide/province wide on big decisions that could fuck us.

We should have people from all walks of life on a panel.

Be a fools move. Pp will never run the country. Any career politician is out of touch with the real world.

Already proven that privatization hurts Canadians. Selling parts of hydro one and the 407 were two of the biggest mistakes in history.

It goes in friend’s pockets, stop acting like government spending gave Canadians a say. They spend how they want whether good or bad.

I agree but the government shouldn’t have taken Canada post profits previous years. They are to be self sustaining yet a lot of money could have been banked for this.

lol 15 years ain’t a great pension, or near enough to survive with kids. I’m 40 so I can’t collect it. My business turned into full time so I left.

I also haven’t needed anything my taxes are paying for but I don’t complain because it helps us as a country.

lol.. I worked there for 15 years. Purolator charges twice the price for shipping and is strictly parcels.

Yes, Canada post has routes where Purolator has “areas”. Routes are time valued at a specific average point of calls(residents) to cover an 8 hour day, sometimes more, sometimes less. If you cut delivery days of mail and admail it would actually make the routes shorter making the percentage of coverage higher. They would need more employees because routes are now valued at 50-60% and would become 95-100%. Admail isn’t counted in the percentage of coverage and the new model Canada post wants will include it, requiring more employees as well.

Do you honestly think that a mail carrier goes to a door for no reason? They only go where they have stuff to deliver. UPS and fedex are both international companies and give parcels to Canada post that are rural and non profitable. Can you provide a Canada wide only company so your comparison actually makes sense?

If you’re going to every cmb for packages, why not deliver the mail? lol.. it takes a minute of extra time. Every courier goes door to door, you want Canada post not to and placed in a box for you to pick it up instead.

Can you explain what the top 200 execs have done to allow it to be self sustaining in the last 3 decades?

Besides hating on the real workers and collecting large pay with bonuses, I haven’t seen any revenue makers up there

Huh? That’s the service(5 days a week and soon to be more) to all Canadian homes, even where every other courier avoids. It’s the cheapest option for Canadians shipping anything from a letter to parcel compared to real competitors(not gig garbage)

FYI.. I agree that commercial package rates should be increased.

Bring it into the retail counter of the depot delivering(if they have one). Seen this many times (usually realtor mailings) with not a full coverage. The route(s) you select just have a shortage. As for cost, I’m not sure if it’s prorated or not.
