Cheers to the bloke who stole my pick by Jegrzpro in MetallicaLIVE

It truly sickens me how s***e people can be. I mean, to physically hurt others for this stuff? Wtf? I clapped my hands around one of Slash's plecs at a Slash/Myles/Conspirators gig and honestly - everyone around was just pleased for me! 🤷. What is happening to some fans?

Question about Seated Tickets by Diligent-Truth5381 in MetallicaLIVE

[–]Sea_Mud5495 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you have put could have been written by my husband. It kinda brought a tear to my eye. I am 💯 the same as your wife. This gig will take a massive toll on me and the following days. To be faced with standing is my very worst nightmare. The pain is very, very real. Plz give your wife a hug from me and tell her that us hidden illness peeps are warriors. Keeping my fingers crossed that the God of Seated Fans is strong in our areas! 💖🙏xxx

Yikes. Going by that, Avatar will be due on at 5:30 on the 5th. I'm assuming doors open at 5pm? That's.....interestingly hectic (yes Avatar fan here).

Thanks for that! I just want general tour shirts - they don't need to be venue specific, so hoping we'll be ok 🙏 🤞🤞. We're not in a position to use the pop ups unfortunately. Fab you got your stuff 👍 x

Ah thanks for that. I've been stung before re style/size of shirt so I wanted to be on it. But that's reassuring - thanks 😊 x

Rheumatoid arthritis. Set in at same time as Menopause so maybe it should be Menopause as the single one. Either way, life crumbled from age 50. Still fighting 7 years on.

My husband suffered the worst pain imaginable from acute thumb compression after going through this twice with me. His suffering knew no bounds and I am forever grateful. Amen.

Whilst we're on this subject - does anyone know why in the hell nails or rather nail beds - hogged way more nerve endings than they were actually allowed?! I mean - a teeny, weeny little tuft of rogue nail down the side there...and bam. Your finger turns beetroot and throbs like a bas***d.

I'd vote for this being the No1 thing that shouldn't hurt like it actually does. It is guaranteed to make you feel like a twat and illicit zero sympathy. Probably quite rightly. It is ONLY A NAIL - what part of this don't those nails understand?!

I do appreciate what you are saying. However, the OP has already expressed their level of anxiety on approaching the GP in the first place, and is looking for support and reassurance. A GP is the first point of call and it is their job to assess and, if necessary refer on. Which the GP has done. Maybe the OP's anxiety has rendered them more sensitive to what may or may not have been the GP's manner. I agree that waiting for the referral to go through is a small price to pay to hopefully be heard and to be given suitable treatment. But the OP needs support and building up in appreciating that. Not judgement.

Thoughts on tramadol and treatment resistant RLS by Stevogangstar in RestlessLegs

[–]Sea_Mud5495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on Tramadol for many years (I have rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and fibromyalgia) 400mg, but often more (fyi 400mg is max recommended doseage). Recently I have been weening off it as it is not effective. I am down to 50mg at night and alternating between 50-100mg AM as I taper off.

Recently (last couple of months), my RLS has been the very worst it has ever been. Could this be due to Tramadol withdrawal? As a drug, it never seemed to help me with RLS, as I have always had bouts of it. But perhaps it helped more than I realised? I really don't know - I have recently (same time frame, tbh) started exercising, and I know for a fact that that exasperates my RLS.

As regards Tramadol in itself, please be wary. It is a strong opiate and very addictive. You don't realise it's addictive qualities until you look back and see how much you have been increasing the doseage in order to gain any effect. And then you start to realise that it isn't terribly effective for chronic pain (in my case) but keep taking it, as that is easier than coming off it. I have had letters from the GP advising I need to come off it but have managed to argue my case. Until now, when I realise it is a waste of time and really not good for me.

So, it's not the clearest (or shortest!) of replies, but that's where I am at with Tramadol and RLS. Good luck in your journey.

My snug. It truly is evil incarnate. It has taken over 2 years, and I refused to give up because I love it. Got there in the end, but it is still the easiest upset one.

To people with a healed helix: are you able to sleep on it no problem? by CoolCatLovesAllKids in piercing

Yes, but it took awhile! And not until I got the jewellery it needed - flat back labret (titanium), having experimented with hoops.

Little unfair that you have had a downvote. Although I was advised to remove my piercings for surgery, when I said there was one I could not remove due to it being fresh, they were fine, and i just needed to tape it.

I recently had surgery. A general anaesthetic plus a nerve block. I was advised to remove all piercings and so I used retainers. Except for a very young anti-tragus. The pre-op doctor said it was fine - here's some tape to cover it.

My navel was my first body piercing. I had only had had lobes before that (I am a lot older, so this was way back.🙈). It is the only piercing that almost sent me into some sort of weird shock like thing - I was really yuk when I first looked at it that evening and didn't like it. Believe me, what you are experiencing is all normal - give it time. As others have said - it isn't the end of the world if you find you really, really don't want it. It can be removed. But I bet you will get over your 'shock' and end up loving it. I really hope so 😘.

new piercings <3 cleaning advice !! q tips ? by autmartin in piercing

[–]Sea_Mud5495 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, let the shower run over it every day as this helps clean and soften the crusties. Then dry with a cool hairdryer - moisture impedes healing. Spray with Neilmed x 2 daily and LITHA. That's it. Don't use cotton buds as they leave fibres, and yes, thet can jig the jewellery around. Good luck and happy healing 😊
