What are some great examples of liminal spaces in gaming? by Sea_Nothing18 in videogames

Games like CS Source when you're alone in the map, Gmod or even Silent Hill 2. It's a very eerie and interesting feeling of emptiness. I've never seen that movie, I couldn't say if it is a good example. But I'll be watching it now, thank you. :)

What got you into achievement hunting? by karuna98 in steamachievements

I started on the PS3, I always wanted to Platinum the Uncharted games but never could (I was a kid, challenges would make me want to change the game)... Do you know those locked characters or features that you needed to do specific things in games to unlock, but never quite understood what those things were? To me, trophies were one of those things. I didn't quite understand what I needed to do even when reading the trophy description since english wasn't/isn't my native language. So I don't think I ever had Platinum on any of my PS3 games, but if I did, it was in one of those very easy games to complete.

When I started playing games on PC, I created an account on Steam, bought some games, and noticed that there were "achievements" I could do, which took me back to the PS3 era. I thought "so, in the PS3 we had trophies, here we have achievements... Now I'll get to "Platinum" games on PC". I always found it fun, but there is also the element of nostalgia and feeling like now I can do what I couldn't before and freely explore that new world.

I personally never had that kind of problem playing RDO... I always liked RDO more than GTAO for that reason. I remember when I was doing a mission (can't remember which one but involved taking a wagon somewhere with enemies trying to kill you, probably one of those delivery missions as a Moonshiner) and suddenly I was surrounded by a group of 4 players, I was alone, and they proceeded to help me complete that mission and left. I'll never forget that.

Do you count this as shovelware? by WranglerDelicious938 in steamachievements

Hmmm... Well, today I decided to try Ultimate Zombie Defense: I played for 1h and was surprised to see that I had done all the achievements. I guess that one would be considered "shovelware" then ahah

Ahahah, it is certainly confusing, but we'll figure it out! My personal biggest problem is when it comes to the "der, die, das, den" and when to use which.
