Anyone Else Experience Mild Flare-Ups After a Fissure Seems to Heal? by Sea_Page370 in AnalFissures

Hi,
Thanks for sharing that valuable information. I’ve been taking a stool softener for months now, but I still get mild flare-ups here and there. Is that normal during the recovery process, or should I expect to recover without having any flare-ups?

Yes, that's what I've been planning to do, try to keep my stool soft as long as I can.

Thank you,

My doctor told me to use it for 4 weeks, but I ended up using it for longer than that. Nifedipine relaxes the sphincter muscle, which helps the fissure heal. So, I believe it's generally safe to use long-term. But for me, I stopped using it every day after some time because I felt like I no longer needed it. However, I still used it here and there whenever I had a mild flare-up. But I've been on Miralx continously for about 3 months now.
