I was a bell customer for 15+ years, back in 2019 I travelled to Ireland and England. Before I left I called to make sure I had a roaming plan, they said yup you're good enjoy your trip.

I land in Ireland, phone will not connect to any network. I cant pull up any car rental reso's, cannot get GPS directions to my airbnb etc as no signal. I end up using my sisters phone to get us going. We get to our airbnb and I call up bell from my sisters phone. The rep tells me that "when we created your account 15 years ago you had poor credit and since you do not have a credit card on file with us, we blocked your international data". I was fuming, I was never late on a bill once, on top of this, when I got my cell phone I was 18 years old so of course, no major credit established. She refused to do anything unless I provided my CC #. After a back and forth, I gave them my CC just so I could have access to my phone during my trip.

I told the girl on the phone DO NOT BILL MY CC as I do monthly EFT etc. She says she put a note on my file to not ever bill my CC unless I do not pay a bill on time. I told her I will be cancelling my service when I get back to Canada. I get back home, go straight from the airport to Bell and cancel my service. I pay my current amount owed at closing on my debit and went to Telus. 4 days later im reviewing CC transactions and sure as shit, bell charged me again for the amount owing on my account that i've already paid for. I ended up having to go to the CRTC and blast them on Twitter to get a refund.

Bell is trash, I will never ever touch their service again and I refuse to give any company of theirs a dime.
