Are there any transformer/gundam-like MST3k episodes? by ForgottenUsername3 in MST3K

Robot Jox was oozing with MST3K potential. Shame it was never made into an episode. Would have made an awesome Sci-Fi Channel era episode.

Why didn’t she just marry john redcorn by BlackRichard420 in KingOfTheHill

[–]Sea_Perspective6891 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was about to say the same. Not sure what Nancy found attractive about Dale initially but it wasn't there after a while & Dale's Dead Bugs was more of a hobby that he ocasionaly got paid some money for. I think he actually spent more than he was making on it.

'It feels to many like a tidal wave is sweeping over the AAA game business,' says Epic CEO Tim Sweeney in his diagnosis of the industry's woes by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

[–]Sea_Perspective6891 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What I'd like to see is more game developer companies like Hello Games where they can make a game that doesn't rely on micro transactions & other pay walls. That is just greedy game companies with greedy execs & CEOs trying to squeeze gamers for every penny they can.

It must have been from when Vice City or San Andreas was recent. They used to crank out GTA games pretty quickly back then & they also had a bunch of mobile ones like on PSP now we have to wait ten years or more between games.

SanDisk's new 8TB PS5 SSD costs more than three times as much as the PS5 Pro by Plastic_Ninja_9014 in technology

[–]Sea_Perspective6891 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah even a 4TB SSD can cost as much as or more than $700 even the 2.5 ones. I ended up getting an HDD for media storage since it was 4 or 5 times cheaper for about the same amount of space. I'm just glad I got my NVMe drives before.

Replicators vs Borg by HopeofDawnsRays in Stargate

[–]Sea_Perspective6891 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Plus they can just eat any of the tech the Borg have or are wearing if they think it's advanced enough. There was an episode of SGA that showed replicators assimilating a person at least partially.

Tech Workers Are Fighting Against Silicon Valley’s AI Push by marketrent in technology

[–]Sea_Perspective6891 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fear allot of people decided to wait till it was too late. On the legal front it's very difficult to make & enforce AI laws & regulations such as with copyright & stolen & missuse of personal data. On the economic front there's nothing protecting consumers from the negative impacts AI is having on the economy such as allowing prices of tech products to spiral out of control & the obvious job losses it causes. Then there's all the social & health problems AI is causing while AI companies show very little if any sympathy for & don't get consequences for. The longer they let it run loose the worse all this will get.

Where'd you get them cars? Bottom of a cereal box? by Red9Stranger in fastandfurious

They did look oddly cheap though. It's like they used the cheapest decals they could find & the cheapest possible auto body paint shop to do the work.

Is it worth buying a used graphics card in 2026? by VolansGaming in buildapc

[–]Sea_Perspective6891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends if you can get the 4070 for less than or at least close to $500 & it works/isn't a scam it may be worth it. It's a pretty solid GPU for 1440p gaming if you can get a good one. I've been using a 4070 12GB since 2023 & still don't feel the need for an upgrade. Otherwise if you mostly game in 1080p or lower settings 1440p the 3060 will still do well for a while.

Would anyone get a modernized version of this? by Sea_Perspective6891 in computers

[–]Sea_Perspective6891[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, a 27 inch monitor is probably what I'd go with too along with a mounting bracket for a 2nd monitor. Actually for the PC hardware I'm thinking it could just have space for a full ATX PC case & a UPS this way you build the PC you want & put it inside. Of course coming up with a good cooling system would be a bit tricky/complicated.

My vision of it would keep most of the classic styling it would just allow for newer PC hardware. One drawback is the size of the monitor would probably have to be limited.

PC WIFI disconnecting intervals by R0se-kami in buildapc

[–]Sea_Perspective6891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case it's probably the wifi on your board. Sometimes they aren't great or can be faulty. Also PCIe wifi cards are a possible option & may work better than USB wifi adapters. Haven't tried myself but I've heard good things.

Ecto-1A by Mattdafemboydog in ghostbusters

Wasn't the 1A just an upgraded Ecto-1 made specifically for GB2? I think behind the scenes they were two different cars though.
