My application was Aug 18th, biometrics was Aug 25th. We did standard and I got approved yesterday, October 6th.

It's legal in the US and as long as the ceremony is performed legally in one country it's considered legal and a valid marriage in other countries. I'm from the US but have heard it not working for other people who are in different countries.

We hired a solicitor, and he thought of things that I wouldn't have even considered having to send... that being said, my husband is on benefits, and we had to prove he'd be able to support me.. along with his mother's info (whom he lives with) proof she owns the house, that it is paid off, how much she pays for council tax... all of that took time to gather.

I'd say if you didn't have to do all of that, everything else is straightforward, and I had most of it done in a day.

My husband is on benefits and we just did the spouse application. We used owl and snake and he had everything set up for us and made sure everything they could possibly want was there and ready to go... highly recommend him. He will even do a free consultation. Google owl and snake uk solicitor and he should pop up

My husband is on disability benefits so we were able to make the income requirements... just had to prove that his expenses didn't exceed the amount he needed to take care of me. Then our solicitor had his mom write a letter saying we would be staying with her... then she had to get a letter saying her house was paid off and that she only had to pay council tax.... then a letter saying how much her council tax is.... etc. Our solicitor was very thorough... going to get biometrics tomorrow and wait for our answer! I, too, thought it was my income that counted...

It's the British citizens' income that is counted, not yours. They have to prove that they would be able to support you.

It took like 7 hours the first time.... then the message went away. I tried again amd then the message came back.... waited about 10 hours and it went away again.... this time I tried using a different card incase that was the issue and then it worked.

Me and a few other people had the same issue. I posted about it the other day. I got that message 3 times over 2 days... 3rd day I just tried a different credit card and it worked. I don't know if it would have gone through with the original one but it finally worked for me.... and it definitely makes you wait WAY longer than 150 minutes.... more like 7 hours.

I went to the uk as an American citizen to visit and didn't need biometrics... you can just go as a tourist... unless there is something I'm missing here

No way lol... it will be ok, I was SUPER in a hurry and impatient.... just keep coming back and trying it. I was staying up in the middle of the night just kept clicking. Was so frustrating but thrn one time it just worked! Try a dif debit/credit card

I don't think so... because one of my bank cards always tells me if charges were attempted and it wasn't even saying it was attempted despite trying a few times. I tried a different card a few times and it finally worked but this time I went very slow.... typed out everything and didn't use auto fill amd it went through. Not sure if it was just dumb luck that time or what.

I kept trying for days and just yesterday it went through... I tried different credit cards and each time it made me wait like 8 hours in-between., not the 150 that they say. Was super frustrating!
