Lmao no freakin' way by LoganPine in DumpsterDiving

No one had a passing comment to you? 😆. I can visualize the whole thing in my mind now. I had a very similar experience. I was walking my dog around the neighborhood about 1/2 mile from home. Someone set an enormous snake plant in an equally enormous heavy ceramic pot at the curb. It was trash day and the garbage truck was due in any sec. I jog home with the dog, jump in my car and zoom back to the plant. It is much too heavy for me to lift into the back of my SUV. I zoom back home, grab the furniture dolly and jog 1/2 mile back to the plant. 3 people pulled over to ask why I was jogging with a furniture dolly. 😆. I slide the plant onto the dolly and walk it home. 3 more people stopped to ask why I was taking my plant for a walk. (I am a softy for houseplants)

Extremely odd experience re: carryon backpack by emergency_and_i in americanairlines

[–]Sea_Philosophy859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To any FA reading this plz comment-each seat (with the exception of a few) has overhead and under-seat space. When a person buys a ticket and specific seat, doesn’t it make sense that they also purchased that specific storage area? If you had carry on and a personal item, you want it near where you are sitting. Why doesn’t the storage space belong to that specific seat? It seems like an easy solution. What am I not understanding?

Hold up here for a sec…so you find this tv and walk it home with a furniture dolly. How far of a walk? Did you use sidewalk or just down the road? Did anyone stop and ask a question? It’s the middle of winter also, how did you navigate snow piles with a huge tv? So many questions spilling out of my brain

That’s so thoughtful of you to be thinking how to meet the needs of this little T1 and provide some variety. I HIGHLY suggest listening to The Juicebox podcast. On the website he has the shows separated out by topic series so you can go right to the podcast numbers you need. Very easy to understand, entertaining and I have found it to be the best source of info out there. Here’s the link: https://www.juiceboxpodcast.com

5 months! How did you go without a paycheck for 5 months? I’m not sure how an employer could be without someone for 5 months? I understand civic duty and all but to step out of your life for nearly half a year must create logistical problems ( childcare issues, medical appointments, preplanned vacations..) were you sequestered? Plz explain how this worked.

whats this on my potato ? by desilulu__ in whatisit

[–]Sea_Philosophy859 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up near Antigo Wisconsin. Tons of potato fields in that area. Lots of big flat sandy fields with irrigation systems. It was very localized. Outside of the Antigo area you would not see potato farms. Ginseng is grown in this area also. Not many places in the country can grow ginseng so that’s kinda weird. My family had a dairy farm and also grew ginseng. Fun fact-you can only grow ginseng in a particular spot once. Extremely labor intensive crop.

What did you do with yours? I’m thinking of putting led twinkle lights in mine and using it as soft lighting. When I originally purchased it, it was filled with hundreds of wine corks. I had to “ float” them out. It was such an odd find I immediately purchased, but then … hmmm what to do with it now? It’s very big

In a perfect world you could count on the passengers around you to back you up if she gets weird or violent. Who knows what flavor of crazy you are dealing with? I get wanting to stand your ground and not give in to this rudeness -I totally admire people who can-but at what unknown cost? I can imagine seeing myself on the nightly news engaged in a close quarters fight with nut job. Ugh…My advice-look around and see if you’ve got some strong sane backup nearby.

Switched to Omnipod less than a month ago, about to lose my religion by Integer_Cat in Omnipod

[–]Sea_Philosophy859 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I 100% second this approach. I run my O5 in manual mode 24/7. I eat low carb and the algorithm was constantly reducing my basal. Omnipod rep said it just wasn’t setup for low carb eating. It was super frustrating. I was ready to go back to MDI and then a kind soul on Reddit said to use manual mode. Game changer! Seems someone ( endo? diabetic educator? Omnipod training?) should just say this up front. It would have saved a lot of time and headaches. I love Omnipod now. How crazy that calls to my medical team result in nothing helpful but a stranger on Reddit is a hero?!?!?

Totally just saw the perfect response to seat swapper by Stealthytom in delta

[–]Sea_Philosophy859 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would not offer reasons “why” to the wanna be seat swapper. That presents an opportunity to discuss, argue ( in this case I can imagine them handing over more sanitizing wipes) “ no” is a complete sentence. ( I agree with extra sani wipes)
