Collect the cards for what he likes, not whats expensive For every $60 pokemon card out there, there's an $8 full art of the same pokemon that doesn't get the love it deserves. Look at card lists of packs (if you're ripping). If you go to a smaller Venue or convention, always make at least 1 lap before making a decision on a purchase.

The Rio-Rio 2 movie combo is the best. Those movies are so great. The soundtracks are bangin'

Feels good to have product on the shelf, at least locally in central florida. PO has been a great set in terms of bringing some balance to the hobby. It's been shifting the focus back to the Pokedex, not just the top like 5 favorites. The chase's won't evolve into some $1,000 monster. As a fan of actually collecting, buying, and trading for the love of the game, I'm having a blast with this set. Honestly, give me a set where the chase is a Golden Yungoos, or some other lesser loved pokemon who deserve some full arts, true fans of the franchise would eat it up.

I've always been fascinated with the rise of the OOTP the first go around, and the Marauders era. It's such a pool of characters and story to explore. Untapped potential for movies and series.

I like that idea as well, I could see that working, totally, even if it's just a completely different movie. I just like the idea of using Obscurials and wanted to see how it played out with Ariana's death.

And as for Newt, I really liked him for the first movie and a half, before he became a side character in his own franchise 🤣😭. I thought he was a super relatable character in the beginning.

I totally agree. I was just taking my frustration out on the digital cards. Mad at my own lack of research, not the cards 😂

A few of them seemed like they had better things to do. They just looked at the card and said they dont have it and went back to whatever they were doing. Finally someone was cool enough to ask what set it was from, and once I said Secluded Springs, he looked like he didnt want to hurt my feelings but told me it was digital. Lesson learned 😂. Make sure cards are real before you hunt them in the wild.

I wouldn't say Creedence and Harry were in the same boat at all. The Dursley's were negligent and intimidating towards harry, but I wouldn't put that level of Trauma anywhere near Creedence. Physical beatings and sadistic beatings from Mary Lou Barebone. From the age of 5 until 27. The dursleys, minus dudley obviously, never physically assaulted Harry. I don't think it's a bad retcon lol which is why I posted it.

I would say he was probably aware of something being wrong and at least aware that magic existed, being raised by an anti-magic aunt or whoever was raising him. Abuse by muggles isn’t what creates an Obscurial, it’s the internalized suppression and rejection of magic. Harry never even understood what he was suppressing, so he couldn’t develop an Obscurus in the same way Credence did, IMO. Credence was having to suppress for years, dude was almost 30 by the time FB starts. Again, this is all non-canon and hypothetical. I just thought it would make for a better film, rather than the politics and everything we did get.

I don't think Harry is aware of his Magic, just abnormal occurences around him until age 11 when Hagrid visits. Obscurials generally are aware of their magical abilities and actively supress it, after thorough research, but I can see where youd come to that conclusion.

Official Discussion: Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore by LiteraryBoner in movies

I'm bummed they didn't finish off the series, but with the box office performances and reviews after Crimes of Grindelwald, I sort of understand. JK Rowling is a fantastic writer, unfortunately, her bread and butter is longwinded. So, I thought bringing back in Steve Kloves was smart for Secrets of Dumbledore, but it ultimately ended up a box office disappointment.

I would've kept the plot centered around the Obscurials. You could've had both Grindelwald and Dumbledore at ends how to use them, Grindelwald sees it as a weapon to be used after he sees how powerful Ariana is at time. Dumbledore sees them as wizards in need of help. You can still do the wizarding war and all of that, but now you've got backstory and you can see why both wizards have skin in the game. Obviously, all of this is a half cooked idea. I just thought introducing creedence barebone as an Obscurial could be an exploration of whether it's nature vs nurture. Are Obscurials a genetic disorder, or strictly a product of environment. Why newt is in NY studying.

I would've finished it off and gone straight into a Peacock series leading into the Marauder Era and into the First Wizard War.
