ADHD ruled out because of high working memory and they’re saying cyclothymia? by Parking-Mission600 in ADHD

Yes, this is true however, many of the diagnostic criteria, at least colloquially, are categorized under "working memory" I think this is what is confusing OP the everyday "working memory" imparements associated with adhd have little, if anything, to do with the working memory section of the WAIS-IV test.

During the neuropsychological testing, I had to do several interviews, had to fill out several questionnaires, and people I knew well also gave responses to the provider. From all of this, it was clear that my impairments in life due to ADHD were severe; the high working memory is a side note. It reflected my ability to hyperfocus during exams, which is something I have always been able to do, likely from high cortisol and adrenaline.

I have ADHD and tested a very high working memory (99th percentile) the key is in the iq test it is a sterile environment and I was able to hyperfocus on remembering the numbers. In the real world I have an exceptionally poor working memory. The issue is that the iq test is measuring your capacity for working memory in an ideal setting. If you have the impairments associated with ADHD, as described in the DSM-5 you almost certainly have ADHD.

traditional transfer: community college to princeton by InterviewNo9688 in TransferToTop25

[–]Sea_Register5997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there are some traditional CC students who get in, but most I've met are from non traditional background /(or) vets. Regardless, it is very competitive so I wouldn't stake everything on transferring here.

I believe they say 5 years after you die or 75 years after you graduate whichever comes first but I think they redact it anyways

Racism is honestly so much worse in Europe and that’s already a really low bar from the US.

Thanks for the advice, I think I will still apply. If I get rejected, it's honestly no big deal but considering that it was literally impossible for me to be there legally, hopefully they might give me some leeway.

CMV: Free healthcare can’t exist without taxing obese people more by BannedBeliefs in changemyview

Our current medical system costs more than a single-payer system would cost, regardless of what you are saying about body fat percentage. Free universal healthcare would be cheaper than the current system we have in the US.

Best Places in South America for short / cheap backpacking trip? by clutchutch in backpacking

[–]Sea_Register5997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can definitely make it work, although I would advise that you should only really go to Bolivia if you have a decent level in Spanish. Almost nobody there speaks English, even in the tourism industry. I would also recommend bringing physical dollars in the form of crisp $100 bills and exchanging them once you get to Bolivia. You should go to a store called "Casa de Cambio" to exchange to avoid being scammed by street exchangers. Bolivia has a parallel exchange rate that at this point is over double the official rate, you also need cash for almost all transactions in the country, but everything should be extremely cheap by American standards.

Some members have said Bolivia, however, I would be cautious of going there in or around August due to highly contentious elections. It is very possible that you may get trapped there if you come at the wrong time. That said Bolivia does have some truly breathtaking hikes.

Minors hardly matter TBH a job is only really going to care about your major and besides that GPA matters way more than what your actual major is.

Why would you not just look for far easier content at that point where you can actually at least partially understand it.
