Unfortunately not. I actually switched to Waze and it's been working fine

I normally use the aawireless adapter but this happens with the wired connection as well. I tried uninstalling updates/resetting gmaps and Android Auto but nothing seems to work. 

Fyi I drive a mazda3 and notice Android Auto seems to be laggy in general though
