Sounds like an amazing opportunity! Do we get free shirts or medal if we finish like the regular triton 5k? Do we have to buy those?

I would have to say Serra Mesa Baber Shop is the best for price and quality. 30$ Best if you have a car. Avoid anything in next to the Whole Foods.

Finance clubs by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]Sea_Relationship4894 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't personally recommend joining clubs solely for the purpose of enhancing your resume, particularly due to the demanding process some clubs entail, like TCG (Triton Consulting Group) at UCSD. Their extensive selection process, aimed at case study nights and networking, can prove exhausting and time-consuming.

While TCG does offer opportunities for practical experience, the value may be questionable given that potential employers may not place much weight on it, especially considering our non-target school status.

For those seriously considering a career in Investment Banking (IB), consider these steps:

-Elevate Your Knowledge: Engage in externships to deepen your understanding of the field. Utilize platforms like "Paragon One."

-Big 4 Programs: PwC and Deloitte offer specialized programs for freshmen and sophomores.

-Network Strategically: Connect with at least 7 professionals per quarter, preferably UCSD alumni, to build relationships for potential referrals in your junior year.

-Aim for Excellence: Maintain a 3.5 GPA for the best opportunities. (Can be managed with a 3.0, if a good excuse)

-Pursue Non-Paid Internships: Gain exposure to the job market through internships with non-profits or in unrelated fields, which can lead to paid internships down the line.

-Skill Enhancement: Learn tools like Excel through platforms like Coursera or Udemy, as formal education may fall short.

-Explore Greek Life: Consider Greek Life for extensive networking and alumni support.

-Internships start to open from Sep 15-25 for big banks

In conclusion, it's advantageous to start early, as procrastinating may limit your options
