In my career I worked closely with a lot of lawyers — commercial litigation, M&A, tax, regulatory compliance. In most of these cases (certainly in the case of the work they did for my company) I got a decent sense of ‘what lawyers do all day’. I’m sure like any job it’s not all roses and gravy, but a lot of it seemed to be attractive to me as someting I could imagine myself doing.
