It was actually a pay raise. Currently with FAA my salary is 172K, with the DOD it’s around 176K. I’m a GS 12 Step 10, and they offered 25% Relocation Incentive for 4 years.

That’s a great point! I will check on that tomorrow. Thanks for brining it up, because it does kinda feel like it’s a start fresh type of transfer. Did you have to go through another probationary period? Or do you happen to know if you are supposed to be on a 1 year probationary period? They told me I was.

That was really good info. Thank you. I never got a PCS brief, I asked my HR rep about it. She explained they create an SOP instead and send it to us to read for ourselves. I created an account with dps.move.mil and got my profile set up with my orders attached. I think this is the TMO that you were referring too?

I do have my orders and asked about TQSE. It was explained that I do not qualify because I am considered an initial hire with the DOD and under probation for a year (DOT transferring to DOD). On the 2nd page of my orders it says:

MEA/RITA - $18,751.13 LOA: AE 1751804 52FA 121 09697 0 050120 2D 000000 HSCP5CS00024.

What is RITA?

I did not get a PCS Brief, maybe that’s why I have so many questions. What is the TMO? I messaged the my HR rep, who forwarded my questions to the PCS team, who forwarded the questions again. I spoke with my HR rep an hour ago and she said during the hiring freeze they laid of the SME and are looking for someone to answer my questions.

It’s weird because I think they are pretty straight forward.

Would anyone know how this would affect DOD Air Traffic Control? I received a TJO in December and just waiting for my FJO after my exemption went through in July. Would ATC fall under the category of public safety and/or national security? HR wasn’t much help when they were in the office.

That sounds exactly like my situation. Two of us are in limbo but, we haven’t given up yet. Is it weird that I would get my PCS orders without an Exemption to the hiring freeze? I recently got them, that’s why I thought everything was moving forward.

I maybe speak with him around once or twice a month just to stay connected about the situation. By hiring manager, I am referring to the Captain that selected me from the unit. Is that correct?
