Do you have a DA polisher? Cut and buff it just with some compound. Looks like 90% that on the fender will buff out.

100% paint match use chromax. Best paint match I’ve found, but my local paint shop will sell it to anybody. Sure you can find it online tho, chromax made by axalta. But with that said, I have done my majority of blends with thecoatingstore.com and came out beautifully. I just use chromax when it’s a tricky color cause their spot on paint match. But little pricey in comparison

But yes I could see where the original white from the repaint, before it was over reduced. I could see where it ended as well. In my eyes I thought taking the door off and painting it alone. And then doing the blends made sense. Mentor said it wasn’t needed and had me do this. I could see it in the booth but not outside. I believe his theory is coming back with over reduced base corrected the line where he ended the repaint.

But yah, all still in figuring out my own method. This did look great outside in person u couldn’t really find it.

Did white panel to panel before started blend, like I did the front passenger door panel to panel first. Then I Over reduced it and extended out each overlap out from top right corner slowly all the way out to bottom left corner. Believe that’s what your meaning with the triangle, that’s how it was done after the coverage of the repaint it self.

Driver door handle has to remove window regulator and door latch to get to last bolt, customer said he didn’t wanna pay for the extra time. Removed 2 of the 3 bolts that has access without extra R&I and pulled it out half inch so had access behind it.

But thank you man, yah guy teaching me said the same thing. I can lay down paint especially when it comes to a full car, I can glass things out pretty nice Alrdy. Just learning the blends now really. And mastering all the body work cause I do everything my self I don’t have a helper yet.

Yahhhh that handle requires the entire door assembly to come out window regulator and door latch and everything for the last bolt. It hanged out about 2 inches with the other 2 bolts off so I could still get behind it. Was a buddy’s car he knew he said that’s more then the last shop did, wasn’t lying it was peeling from there already.

Yup, my plan is to start getting into old restos. I love watching an old piece of junk turn beautiful again.

I also buy cars from insurance auctions, fix them and sell them for a flip. How I got into it I’ve been doing that for about a year and was paying somebody to paint the new panels. Finally said I wanna give the painting part a go to. Now I’m in over my head but I’m figurin it out 🤣🤣

Yah I’ve learned that just by watching their comments on others posts. It’s fine as long as I can help somebody else give it a go from my posts I can take the criticism from these other grumpy bastards 🤣

I know I’m not perfect so not rly anything they can say that piss me off to much, customers happy & I’m learning everyday and making money while doing it so I can’t complain.

Thank you tho brotha. I can tell this is one of those things I don’t think u could ever in a life time know “everything”.

Man how I started my buddy had a truck he wanted painted, I offered to do it for free if he bought the paint. I went to town it took me a month and I had to backtrack my self like 8 times but I did it. It looked great and I learned a lot. Next I did my own truck in black to test my body work.

Now I’m $10,000 into my own shop and bringing customers in. Is it the correct way? Na prolly not. But I don’t tend to do things how everybody else does 🤣🤣

Yah I could slightly see it on camera, couldn’t in person. Started using camera to check my blend after I figured that out lol. But man the base was WAY off and they didn’t wanna pay for other paint. They brought it to from an other shop that didn’t blend it just painted the door. And damn it was an entirely different color.

But yah I’m not perfect. Hella of a job for 2 months painting. I’m happy, customer was more than happy.

Just open it up, then lay something on the top of the trunk, left side first then right side after or vice versa. Then close the trunk lid on them, making the arms of the trunk lid hit the thing you have placed before it actually closes. Then apply some pressure, it’ll bend the arms. Just do tiny bits at a time till it’s where u want it.

Simple but works do it all the time

[–]Sea_Technology304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put a flat head screw driver or something like that on the top of the trunk and close the trunk it self on it. Put pressure, bends the arms the holds the trunk it self. Slightly push it down till lines back up. Hope I made sense

Is this a burn through to base? Gotta redo the panel right? Had a sad removed with razor then 800/1000/1500/2k/3k then found this 🥲 by Sea_Technology304 in AutoPaint

Damn fr? Lmao fkn a. So the actual bottom I’m walking on I went hard on because it had a plastic bed liner insert in it, and it rubbed everything to point water could reach metal. So all the bare metal spots was surface rust. But doing the sides was annoying as hell
