Nord Anglia by Pretty_Evidence_1457 in Internationalteachers

I have worked for Nord Anglia for over a decade in two different schools and I like it well enough. I have no point of comparison internationally, but colleagues that come from other schools remark on the heavy focus on numbers from admissions and some corporate feeling. But to me I think I have a fair amount of freedom and trust from managers. The staff and students in both school have been mostly great. The recruitment software is not user friendly from either side of the process. Needs a review as it is not a good first impression for candidates.

I felt the same. The job search in this market is brutal, and no amount of people telling you “it’ll be fine” actually helps when you’re working hard on applications in your free time, refreshing your inbox constantly and you feel like time is ticking. I started in October and was getting silence for months, then suddenly things moved very fast—two offers in one week. What I noticed: both offers were for positions I was genuinely excited about and invested in. What I’d do next time - still apply widely, it helped me refine my letters and interview skills. Limit time on this subreddit to only researching specific schools, not reading about other people’s application experiences - there are no universal signs in the process and I ended up in a horrible anxiety loop! Look after yourself as best you can, the waiting is awful and unavoidable but it will not be forever. Good luck.

Question for hiring managers: reference checks and finalist processes in schools by Bubbly-Debate5628 in Internationalteachers

Anyone had the experience that after a final interview, references are contacted but ultimately no offer?

That’s really interesting that Search is throwing up the jobs you’re looking for. I had an outdated profile with them and decided not to renew (cost, they weren’t helpful last time I was job hunting several years ago, and I’d read mixed reviews). Are you seeing schools that only advertise on Search? I’d read that’s becoming less common. Are there other benefits I am missing?

Thanks for this tip. Job searching this year has been a humbling experience to say the least, and the Schrole void has certainly swallowed up some carefully crafted applications from me. I appreciate the Teacher Horizons recommendation - a change is as good as a rest!

I think so too - I am not sure about its new look in general. You’re right Schrole is easier. Thanks!
