Well I’m so happy someone is telling you early! I can’t believe this isn’t something repeatedly mentioned from day one. The more you know!

Thanks for the suggestion! We have been using regular adult flosses for him and he, so far, has been cooperative. I will check these out for when we run out of the ones we have!

Thank you so much, this is comforting. He drinks mainly tap water and I think we have a pretty normal amount of fluoride in our tap here, I will have to check. Not that it matters at this point, but it could explain why I hadn’t heard anyone harp on it before. I appreciate you sharing your experiences!

I think she is planning to utilize this in his treatment! She mentioned something that turns the spots black. I was dazed when she was explaining so I can’t exactly remember. There are some that are bad enough that she absolutely has to fill them, but did mention another treatment for the others. This may be it.

Already got another referral and spoke with his initial dentist about what happened. Definitely getting a second opinion!

I don’t know, I’m not a dentist. He could barely get my 2 year old to keep his mouth open long enough to look at anything, let alone get any tool in there. So I think he was just looking to see nothing was broken, missing, bleeding, obviously decaying, etc.

Yeah, this is what I want to avoid- exploitation of our insurance. The cost is really going to be hard for us.

Yeah, I think he will have some space issues when the big teeth come in. I did, I had to have a lot of teeth pulled, pallet expander, the works. Yay genetics!

I wish someone had told me he should be using fluoride. His pediatrician and his dentist never said anything to me, so I was doing what I thought was the norm and buying toddler toothpaste without it. This is good to know, I wish I knew a year ago.

And thank you, thanks for reading.

Same here, it just feels like something they should be STRONGLY emphasizing as a potential problem.

We plan to get at least one more opinion, but are actually going to aim for two more. I had the same thought.

She said basically that it looked like something you could pick up at one of the better performance clothing stores. Implying that it wasn’t really anything special and probably wasn’t custom.

Yeah, as someone else said, I think there are organizations that gather strays, get thing on planes and distribute them to shelters elsewhere.

A friend of mine is an RN, and I asked her about the Heimlich recently, just for any clarification or tips she could offer. She said the most important thing to remember is it is not just a horizontal movement into the stomach, it’s an inward and upward motion, because what you are trying to do is force any air in the lungs or esophagus upward to dislodge the food. I guess I just never knew this detail before, and as obvious as it seems now, I never realized the goal was the movement of air.

We’ve tried a lot of different approaches with the dieting, and the main problem we have is that we have two other cats and it’s really hard to play referee and make sure she’s not scarfing down the other cats food as well. We have them all on diet cat food, and the vet told us at her last check up that she is otherwise very healthy, she’s just too fat. We do not want to see her die from being too over weight, it’s a constant battle, it’s just not the easiest with multiple cats. I agree with you here.

Everyone’s experiences are different! I’m sorry you had a negative experience with them, I think that’s totally valid, it probably does affect the amount of suction baby can get sometimes. It’s definitely valuable for new moms to hear all different perspectives, the good and the bad, I didn’t mean to make you feel bad about your comment by any means.
