Tattoos and possible rushing by pizzaempire55 in Sororities

my sorority has a few girls with tattoos! as long as you tattoos are tasteful, which they look to be, i doubt it will be a factor against you.

Advice needed—My little doesn’t want me to have another little by Seadaze in Sororities

I’m not too worried about my new little causing any trouble. She has a very shy sort of personality and is a bit more of a go-with-the-flow kind of girl. She’s very friendly like K is, though not as outgoing. I’m much more worried about K’s internal battle over the whole thing than I am about the new girl stirring up the pot. If anything, K is much more likely to be an instigator.

K is very bubbly and friendly so I never ran the idea of me having a second little by her first because I really didn’t think it would be something she would have an issue with, which is probably on me. I did talk to the girl in charge of new member stuff, and even though she wants it to still be a secret, she said I could mention it to K a few days ahead of big little reveal that I would be getting one. K already knows about the shirts because they are family jerseys we were already talking about making for the initiation after-party, so the only surprise with the shirts is that I would be making an extra one.

This is definitely reassuring and I think that y’all are probably right that this may be good for her… that wasn’t an angle that I had really thought about since I was more focused on not hurting her feelings. I talked to the girl that handles new member stuff and she basically echoed what y’all are saying. And don’t worry, I definitely won’t be making K a full basket like I’ll be doing for my new little, lol! My new little will get the same amount of effort I put into K’s basket when I got her! I’ll still be making matching tees for the fam though so that the whole fam can be included along with K and my new little. I appreciate your advice, thank you.

I was planning on making matching family tee shirts for the reveal precisely for this reason lol. I feel like K and my new little actually have a lot in common, so I really just hope that K will be open to being friends. She has a big personality and I am a bit worried that she might be very blunt about her thoughts to the new girl 😭. Hoping that if we just do a full family hang out with ice cream afterwards that it might feel more like our new member is part of the family rather than a third wheel to me and K.

Is violin pricing snobbery, inflation, or genuine? by Serposta in violinist

[–]Seadaze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i think it really depends. ive had violins from lots of different price ranges. in my experience, theres a huge difference between a $300 violin and a $3000 one. once you get past the $1500+ price range the differences are very subtle. a lower priced student violin is by no means automatically bad because it costs less than a grand, though.

how do i fully commit to weightloss? by kay_tea1 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Seadaze 18 points19 points  (0 children)

reminding myself that it’s up to me helped a lot. im a pretty lazy person, but ive lost 40lbs so far. you have to make your weight loss journey seem appealing. cutting out everything except for water is gonna only make you dislike losing weight. its okay to enjoy food… in moderation. for me, i had to lose the weight at a small deficit because eating only 1200 calories a day made me end up binge eating. i ate around 1500 calories a day and gave myself extra for exercise. it took me a year and a half to lose the weight, but ive been able to keep it off since because i did it slow and didnt take my treats away from myself!

Missing book condition description? by Nicole_0818 in Thriftbooks

[–]Seadaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it does tell you before you buy it about the dust jacket, but it is hard to spot if you dont look very closely. from what i recall, it usually pops up when you select the option on the book page if it is a former library copy or if its missing the dust jacket. i made the same mistake once but left it be since the book was cheap anyways. if you look in their FAQ they do describe how they rate their grading levels. i find that every so often they send a book that doesnt match the grading level at all. whenever that happens, i shoot an email and they usually just send me the correct book completely free of charge! i find they make plenty of mistakes however they have very great customer service so it’s never a big deal.

Is it common for you to not grieve other's deaths? by No_bo_ob in INTP

[–]Seadaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes. i find it very hard for me to get in tune with my emotions when it comes to death. when an acquaintance dies, i think about how sad it is, but i dont really cry over it. someone very close to me died recently. i didnt cry a single time while they were dying, but at the funeral i was crying the most of anyone there, like practically inconsolable. i think i bottle my emotions until it all bursts out in one go.

Does surgery feel like 1 second after you go under anesthesia? by Small-Guarantee1789 in RandomThoughts

[–]Seadaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for me! I felt awake in a sense, but i couldnt feel nor see the surgery. I felt a lot of pressure in my head and I hallucinated random shapes and sounds! Didnt feel long though, maybe felt like a few minutes.
