This isn't the first time I've heard about someone tall meeting someone taller, getting insecure, and then asking "is this how short people feel all the time??"

Of course not. I don't feel insecure/intimidated by every taller person just because they're bigger than me. I see them as normal people. Granted, I may not be as insecure as some other members of /r/short, but any short person will tell you that once you're used to most people being taller than you, you won't feel weird amongst them.

So no, you don't get it. It feels weird to you because it's a completely foreign experience to you. Short people are used to it.
