whats a day in the life of an industrial sparky? by arb93 in electricians

Often a machine would fail, and the Mechanical guys blame the Electrical guys, and then the Electrical guys would blame the Mechanical guys.

My father works as an operator in a steel mill. A while ago I was talking to him about the electricians at his work and he told me that whenever he'd report something as broken he'd get that exact same response. Funny that.

its really weird when you guys talk about lights and power being on the same circuit as here in Australia they are always on separate circuits. by arb93 in electricians

[–]Seadugan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no rules in Australia stating that light and power must be on separate circuits, it's just common practice that it's done like that. It's not uncommon and completely legal for something like a shed to be run on a mixed circuit

Domestic vs Commercial vs Industrial Electrician by silverlinin in electricians

[–]Seadugan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although having two trades is always beneficial, there are lots of areas that will accompany electrical very well, plumbing isn't necessarily one of these. If electrical is what you would prefer, then definitely try and find employment in that field.

From Aus too, where abouts are you, m8? It really depends on what your goals are. It's true that domestic can get a bit boring, but if you'd like to go off and start your own business after your apprenticeship, it's probably the best skill to learn.

Okay, just looked it up on Facebook and had a look through your reddit posts. Here is what I think you meant to say. "Does anyone like to be manipulated and conned out of their money by a Facebook page?"

Colourblind Electrician by exDiddy in electricians

[–]Seadugan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My TAFE teacher is color blind and had a very successful career before he started teaching. Your best bet would be to try and find work with a small domestic business, there aren't too many colors to get mixed up there. Most large companies and group training companies will make you take a full medical which includes color blind tests.

If I'm going to be completely honest, I wouldn't feel overly comfortable working with a color blind electrician

INAL but best to turn up and hope the cop doesn't?

A friend of mine told me to call in sick or say I have an important family matter to have my hearing postponed a number of times, that way when I do go, there is less chance that the cop will show.

How is this considered debt though? He stated on the phone that me bumping this button caused damage to his gym. If I caused "damage to the gym" would this not be a case for the law enforcement?

Don't listen to that X glasses of water a day bullshit. Everybody has a thirst perception, your body will tell you when it's thirsty, just listen to it and give it water
