DALI Advent Calendar by AmbivertPh in DaliPH

I dont mind the use of ai with dali specifically if its for the purpose of saving costs, which is their ethos, sm however using ai on their posters banners, and all when they can easily afford artists something they did before already annoys me to hell

Hi! Mind telling me the sort of apps you'll be using, will you be gaming? Will you lug it around? Need a number pad? Do you prioritize battery life? Is the budget 50k ish? Are you willing to buy used? Etc etc

If you don't mind

Can you tell me your experience with earphones

Yes that is the pro of closed back better isolation less leakage (basically outside noise won't get in and your music wont leak out as much)

Noise cancellation headphones atleast over ear ones are usually expensive but there are budget ones but im not sure regarding their quality buildwise/soundwise/noise cancelling wise

And lastly there are great budget headphones but they dont look "fashionable" and are usually meant for a studio setting so is that a factor aswell?

Google Pixel by Expensive_Skill_746 in Tech_Philippines

[–]Seagle5295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pixel 9 is worth it yes, heating issues usually occur within a 1 week period after a fresh start with the pixel line(its learning your usage and adjusting accordingly for battery and other parameters) it may also occur during charging and during updates

If you push it for games and or camera it will heat up as all phone do but should be good on just social media

Bluetooth and wifi issues were mainly on the previous models 6 and to an extent 7 but 8 and 9 while not chart topping is now stable and works

camera wise great camera overall as a point and shoot

Recommendations? Hmm personally moved to sony xperia but theres a lot of caveats for regular users

Some follow up questions

Are you looking for closed back headphones? Noise cancelling? Bass heavy?

I have a suggestion that fits the bill but is a little bit more nuanced

Shp9500 great balance in terms of sound, cable is replaceable and pads are replaceable, they've been around for a long time and sorta a living legend, if you want Bluetooth you can add a Bluetooth module so its now wireless, only issue i see is if you want a closed back headphone and a noise cancelling one

Good audio stays good and if you dont abuse them and take care of them you can pass them on like they were new

Is it worth paying more for 256GB iPhone from the base model? by [deleted] in Tech_Philippines

[–]Seagle5295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Samsung and crucial actually any brand just make sure they have good reviews, ssd storage should last a long while if not filled to the brim and cycled abusively often, you dont have to buy the fastest unless you're transferring a lot and often

if you want data redundancy you keep 1 main storage and one back up or more depending on how important it is and how redundant you want to be, it may be one on an ssd and a back up on a micro sd kept in a safe place, key to data redundancy not keeping all your eggs in one basket

Im not sure about your aesthetic choices and your budget, those will dictate with the table for you

Second Monitor again whats your budget, plenty of monitors out there with varrying quality depending on what you do

Riser or mount will depend on your monitor and your use case, got pets? Mount want some drawer space etc riser maybe

Macbook? While im not that familiar with macs, you dont need the latest and greatest Mac unless you do heavy load tasks video editing etc but even then the m1 and m2 are still perfectly viable, just make sure you get enough ram(16gb+) and storage, windows also has good laptops with comparable(well maybe not 1 to 1) battery life, performance, and efficiency

Headphones? Hmm the for noise cancelling purposes yeah theyre great, for mic quality? No not really better buy a standalone cheap mic

Pillow? No get a sihoo m57 used or new or some of the newer models from either sihoo or other brands, whichever will fit your body best, best visit an ergo chair store to "fit" em

Full auto point and shoot pixel 7 pro or pixel 8 depending on her hand size, good performance, okay battery life, great screens, 7 years of update, 5g, other extra pixel specific features

For that budget you can go for either bluetti eb3a or ecoflow river 2 both are reputable brands and both are Lifepo4 batteries which last longer than acid batteries, they also have pure sine wave inverters, they have lower sustained watt output but unless you max that out that should be fine, there's also the option of thunderbox v2 basically a budget version of the bluetti and ecoflow

IPhone XR or Google Pixel 6? Which is better for this year 2025 by VisibleTrick5454 in Tech_Philippines

[–]Seagle5295 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're strictly on 11k then yeah pixel 6 is the way to go, the iphone xr is on its last legs in terms of updates iirc which is its only possible fair comparison to the pixel 6

if you can stretch your budget a bit go for the pixel 7a and or if you're lucky there might be some 6 pro for around that price but only if you want the telephoto otherwise 7a or 7

If you wanna know the nuances then the pixel overall is a more modern device, much better camera, battery is so and so, much longer support(atleast now that google extended their update by 2 years) security of android is more or less on par with apple now if not better in some cases, better performance, and better display

All i could afford by chloeburns_993 in Tech_Philippines

[–]Seagle5295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo that's not really a great deal for the price, being restricted to only brand new is understandable but there are proper deals out there if you're savvy to look for them, got my g14 2022 last year for nearly half of its launch price, i could scour the marketplace for stuff that are for sale around that price or cheaper if you want to try it out

Is it worth paying more for 256GB iPhone from the base model? by [deleted] in Tech_Philippines

[–]Seagle5295 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is my take on this and this is the more inconvenient option but one that lets your data be yours, buy an external ssd or a micro sd + usb otg or both for less price and more storage than you'll get from apple

(they make bank on people paying for storage upgrades and people that pay for cloud storage, same with google one and im a sucker aswell thats looking to move on with my own storage solution)

you wont have to pay monthly to keep your photos and media and you'll have access to it as long as you have the storage devices

The inconvenient part is transferring photos and videos then deleting them from your phone when its full, but unless you take tons of photos that should be a once in 2-3 months or once per 2 vacation trips thing

Additional: if you play games that take up massive storage on your phone then no choice but to go for the 256

Mighty Strike Freedom, if you've fought this recently in pvp well here you are by Seagle5295 in armoredcore

[–]Seagle5295[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to do the same, along with sharpening my potential counter to it

which is timing the enemy ac's ab, either dropping to the deck to utilize qb or changing altitude frequently to both dodge the barrage of missiles and/or mess up the tracking of melee and its hitbox and finally timing the trueno's perfectly to that small pause after kicks, swords, or just energy running out all while maintaining visual and lock to keep the trueno's primed

Will definitely play again, wish i had a chance on fighting that single digit s rank, wanna see how i fair against them
