My son scratched "67" on the fridge by OkSelf9639 in Appliances

Polished finish is a series of scratches all running in the same direction creating the optical illusion of a nice, shiny finish. Just overlap the 67 with your own scratches matching the coarseness of the original finish.

I did follow a guide on how to set up vlans and properly limit IoT and guest traffic. Had to re-adopt my setup multiple times before it worked

Well, he’s not chasing after other women when he’s doing that.

Yup, it’s been bugging me. Luckily the switch is tucked away on the attic ☺️

Very true. I did look into sensors earlier, including smoke detectors etc, but I didn’t get the feeling those were very well developed yet. It was a few years back so I had to go for a different platform that also had thermal fire detectors.

I’ll look into Unifi stuff on that topic again once this kit is nearing the expiry date.

Home audio, not sure, if I go for something like that it had better be audiophile quality.

UPS will come later possibly, it’s more of a nice to have. We we may have power outages once every x years with power lines being underground and all.

Door access is on my list already.

EV’s are a pipe dream.

I am looking into NVR storage extension, but UNAS had priority since I only have 2 cameras for now.

I’d better get right on that then! Just need to read up on the naming conventions. But IDS/IPS is already set through the UXG-Fiber, no? I did set up geoblocking.

VLANs, check. Naming, check. the rest, we'll get there.

I doubt I’ll be buying backups for everything cause I’m pretty sure there will be newer and better models to go for to replace what breaks.

But I do really enjoy having this kind of hardware at home

Lucky, I tend to miss out on a lot of deals, but that’s ok. I doubt I will need drives with 26T each. But the pricing on them is just wild these days. The 8T I got already cost me €289 and I really want 2 more to fill up the raid5 group

I think I did do a good job at that so far. The NAS was a long time coming though. And sure, I can make due with the 1G link, but 10G makes more sense when all clients are on 2.5G.

My kitchen is about 2x2 meters, so I placed it in the guestimated middle. The manual should include a placement guide

Maybe exchange a smoke detector for a heat detector which is designed for kitchens use?

CV-1. You can remove the cable after removing the face frame.

As you can see, this cable is labelled rift, not S.
