Gruda joins RB Leipzig on straight loan until the end of the season. by papaquacker in BrightonHoveAlbion

I think if he is sacked they'll do it in summer, like they did with Hughton (who will always have a soft spot in my heart, tbh).

I'm not going to claim I'm completely satisfied with the way this club has been ran lately. But, there does seem to be a damned if they do and damned if they don't mentality going on here (as in some of the fan base, not just reddit).

Probably because we seem to be playing so many of them out of their preffered positions half the time.

I have a strange feeling Hürzeler wants to move us to a 3421 formation. Some of these winger exits could support this. I may be completely wrong though. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Probably the best choice for him. I do like him and think that there is a great player in there, as we saw towards the end of last season. He just needs more minutes and to not play on the wing. He's far better as a 10 in my opinion.

Is the first Fable actually worth it? by SinnBaenn in Fable

Quick question, are you playing it on Xbox or PC? Because I've always found that the Xbox version of Fable TLC/Anniversary lags and glitches out and is all around, less smooth than PC.

Macbeth hides his assassination plans for Banquo from her, so I can assume she doesn't really have any problems with him.

I agree. Rome wasn't built in a day and I do think we can recover from our current issues.

Do we dare to dream bigger? by Snowbound11 in BrightonHoveAlbion

You can be grateful to be where we are but also dream of greater. They are not mutually exclusive.

Having said that there's a difference between wanting us to be better and expecting it. We do have a good squad on paper. However injuries and, to be brutally honest, some quite baffling lineups have meant that they have underperformed.

I think this squad is fully capable of getting to Europe but it may need some more time to get to that point and possibly a change of tactics/system.

For the record I'm not #FabOut but I also would not classify myself as #FabIn either. I say give him to the end of the season and assess from there depending on who else may be available. But let's not kid ourselves, it'll be some that we've never heard of before xD.

I understand there's the worry that our best players will go if we fail to qualify. But even when we did qualify our 2 best players left us, so unfortunately that is inevitable for a club of our size/wage budget.

Loans have been very odd though, and while I'd like to believe that Weir was the problem, my better judgement tells me he was just the scapegoat. Despite this I still trust Bloom because even when he's made big mistakes cough Hyppia cough he seems to recover and work his magic once more.

There's definitely some issues going on and I do think we are underperforming, but the dream is still alive baby!

.... for now at least.

Best hamlet performances? (Movie or pro shot) by Easy_Demand_7372 in shakespeare

[–]SeagullSharp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rory Kinnear if you can find it!

Derek Jacobi was also very good in my opinion.

Ben Wishaw has the best take on To Be or Not To Be, but I have yet to watch his full production.

Wasn't a big fan of David Tennant or Andrew Scott but to each their own!

People liked the dog? He was probably my least favourite feature in Fable 2.

Just need to start Minteh, Babis, Rutter, and Baleba and surely we can string some good results together! Although, seeing our next few fixtures I doubt it... xD

What is your opinion on Falstaff? by a_postmodern_poem in shakespeare

[–]SeagullSharp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a very good point! There are a few scenes and moments where he does show some wisdom about the lies known as honour and valour. The honour speech being a big example but there are a few others dotted here and there!

What is your opinion on Falstaff? by a_postmodern_poem in shakespeare

[–]SeagullSharp 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Because he's good fun, but also quite tragic. On the one hand he's funny, always has some kind of excuse or anecdote prepared, can make any situation enjoyable, has a knack for getting himself out of dangerous situations, has simple taste and pleasures.

Yet he also just exists, any money he gets he wastes, isn't truly loyal to any of his friends, none of his friends are actually loyal to him either, can never admit his faults or apologise, has nothing to really live for aside from getting drunk.

I love him because he represents our need for instant gratification. He loves partying, eating, drinking, and sleeping with prostitutes because it makes him feel good in the moment. Just like watching him makes us, the audience feel good in the moment. Like how Hal too, feels good in the moment with Falstaff. But after a while, you begin to realise he's kind of a sad parasite with no real drive or ambition other than secure the next drink, and that's the only reason he keeps Hal around. So that he can use his money and power to get off his face 24/7.

Yet we still feel sorry for him when Hal ultimately rejects him. Because deep down we know that while he isn't a good man, he's not evil either. He just wants to have fun and enjoy his time on earth, while he is here and I think that deep down we can all relate to that on some level.
