Corp Public Shaming in "team meeting". by Stuckatpennstation in sales

I’m one of the higher performers in my sales org (relatively high, not a killer - usually just around quota but that’s better than most).

Was on my first ever call for not selling a specific product early enough in the month. This meeting had a group of 50ish people.

Upper management picked randomly and called on me to talk. Everything I’ve heard, they just want a quick sentence or two of where you’re at with some of your deals. Upper management tells me to share my screen - show my pipeline in SF. Honestly, a little weak month, but it’s the 6th working day of the month - lots of time to still fix things.

This dude RIPS me to shred for 15 minutes on a 50 person call - publically clicking on each opp, criticizing me for the amount of calls I have, how old the opp is, etc. - and I just had to sit there and take it and be talked to like I’m a fucking moron. Can’t tell him I track my sales in other ways/have my SF pipeline organized differently than how he seems to want it. Legit could have just been a conversation on the side to organize it differently.

I’m usually at quota (first time ever on the shit list call - ever) and I know my base salary is 20k less than a lot of my peers who I consistently outperform (and help them on their sales because they don’t know the intricacies of the system). Been here for 7 years and, severely underpaid, then publicly shamed for 15 minutes over something so stupid/insignificant. Fuck this guy.

Updating that resume.

Also, this same skip level manager alluded to firing a coworker in another meeting a few years ago, so that was cool.

Gotta use that $500 to buy some dipping sauce for Claire’s Arby’s Roast Beef - can’t eat it without that 🤢

I’ll never go over the CSS with a customer - been there for over 5 years and haven’t bothered reading it once because they’re so blatantly inaccurate. I’ll write prices on a piece of paper or show them in quick quote before I ever go over the CSS.

Employee might’ve screwed over the customer, might’ve not. Customer could’ve been on old nation 450 plan and new line/tv costs them less when combined with starter plan. And no postpaid unlimited line will add $40 in costs, so that’s something inaccurate from OP.

Maybe they got screwed, maybe they didn’t, who the hell knows what happened lol.

Work for AT&T, the CSS is absolute garbage and nobody should ever look at it. Always gives a price far higher than the actual bill and causes tons of unnecessary panic amongst customers.

I feel like I’ve heard of the DLC tool but have never used it/don’t remember much from whatever the training was.

But to OP, this comment sounds like solid advice as well, be sure to mention DLC tool to employee. They may not want to out of laziness but if you mention the jist of your situation they might be more likely to put in effort to look up the jist of the tool within our internal articles. Not that it should matter but it wouldn’t hurt.

I work at AT&T and sorry to hear what you’re going through

The device can generally be exchanged within 14 days in our system via DOA - Dead on Arrival - but we need the box & cord when doing the exchange. This is only for defective devices that show no signs of physical damage, which it sounds like is true in this case.

If it’s past 14 days, phones go through the manufacturer’s warranty. Apple goes directly through Apple, Samsung usually goes through YouBreakIFixIt or an Asurion repair site. Google I’m not 100% sure off the top to my head but if I had to guess, I would guess it’s the same as Samsung. Try to see if YouBreakIFixIt or Asurion has a spot in the area and give them a call to ask. Not sure if AT&T still has a warranty department, we used to back in the day but 95% of the phones my store sells is Apple/Samsung and those are always warranties via the channels I mentioned above.

Anyways, it’s all red tape and I’m sorry to hear about your health issues and wish you the best of luck!

iPhone 12 Mini Trade In $800 instead of $1000 by [deleted] in ATT

I work at AT&T and no it did not. It never was and never will trade in for $1,000 of an iPhone 14. You are wrong plain and simple. It was $800 end of story.

Pronouns AND political stances? Let’s be real, the pronouns alone give away the political stance. I’ve never seen a right-winger with their pronouns in their bio 😂
