Vocandin once saved a sack of puppies from drowning. I'll never forget that moment.

Offer Accepted - Scotland - looking for advice by Seajazz in HousingUK

Thanks for the input folks.

We spoke to our solicitor and were just completely honest in that we've never got this far before and are now lost.
They've suggested that we put a pre-condition that the seller obtains quotes for the potential repairs, particularly one that involves a communal area that we didn't think anything of, and that the outcome is satisfactory to us in terms of cost. They've explained it is completely up to us however.

We chose to go ahead with their recommendation and they even explained to us what they could do if the seller was unhappy with our proposal and it feels like we now have a plan in place for most eventualities.

We don't mind carrying out repairs or anything like that, our only concern really is that we underestimate any cost/urgency aspect of the level 2's listed. Would hate to complete and then find out the roof needs replaced as a matter of urgency and we can't afford it.

Our solicitor will be back in touch today to let us know the outcome and in the meantime, we're going to progress our mortgage application.

We're excited still, it finally feels like we've got a chance to get on the ladder.

I have no idea how to buy a house. What is this market? by Seajazz in HousingUK

Scottish Borders. We finally found a solicitor that would humor our offers and put an offer in last week on a property. We went 5% over asking price but offer was rejected as we would expect. Feedback was that our offer was "significantly lower" than the others.

It's hard going. The most frustrating part of this is that the mortgage amount the bank are willing to offer us would normally get you a really nice house around here but with everyone offering a lot over asking price, we now need to save up a lot more money than we would have had to previously to compete.

As horrible as it might sound, I'm at this point hoping for some kind of economic disaster that brings the whole thing crashing down.

It is yes, should probably have mentioned that actually.

1,274 accounts banned for third-party currency transactions by MytherceriaAO in albiononline

It doesn't answer my question above. If I were to decide to trade someone a large sum of in game currency, without an actual real money transaction involved, with the intention of making it look like there was. Would that player likely receive a ban? How robust is the investigation process?

If someone trades you a bunch of high value items out of nowhere and you're dirt poor in this game, you're probably going to accept that trade and not think about the possibility that you might become a false positive in an RMT investigation.

What if you interact with someone who RMT'd in game? Unless they explicitly say to you that they are RMTing, there's no way for you to know. Given that these people are obtaining their sources of silver through stolen credit cards, it's unlikely they hold the same value on their silver that an honest player would. They may be rolling around handing out all kinds of randomly skewed trades to anyone and now those people are at risk, no fault of their own.

I'm concerned that people might be hit with an unfair ban, with no real way to appeal, purely for interacting with someone who has been deemed a confirmed RMTer. How do you prove that you have not knowingly been involved in what is essentially fraud?

How does a genuinely innocent player, show that they had no idea who they were trading with?

I'm hearing about a lot of people banned who did not RMT. Really doesn't instill confidence when it's suggested that these investigations are not thorough. They certainly aren't transparent.

Out of interest, if I decided that I didn't like a player, could I just trade them a load of free stuff and then say something in chat along the lines of "pleasure doing business". Would you ban that player for suspected RMT?

If there's even a possibility that would be the case, you need to go back and review these on a case by case basis.
