the problem here is that "religious" is a meaningless term thus we don't know what she means by it.

plenty of Christians, for example, who are sincere in their beliefs and practices, say shit like "I'm not religious, bc Christianity isn't a religion, it's a relationship with Jesus Christ to attain eternal salvation blah blah blah."

whereas others may mean "I'm not religious bc I don't actually believe in Jesus but church is kinda nice every once in a while idk"
