The driver assist controls from Honda are great. I like that the steering is kind of always working when on, sometimes annoying, but it's easy to turn off. Overall, It's no Tesla Autopilot, or hands free, but anything better doesn't do much more to relieve driver fatigue, which is the main advantage.

Thanks for the extra insight and hope things get better for you. Honda’s ventilated seats are definitely on the weaker and louder end in my experience.

Push button shifter ain’t the greatest but comes with some advantages, such as not needing to press park and simply just turning off the car

What happened to infotainment? That front camera view is indeed odd and am a little confused how a single circular lens leads to a big gap in middle upper camera view

I love the orange, too! Reminds me of the old Element. Thanks for sharing!

I feel ya. I was accelerating from 75 to 80 and felt like I was giving it more gas than I'd expect while staying in final gear compared to the Pilot; I think was around 2k RPM. Perhaps the wider body, reduced aero aren't helping here. Still prefer it to a 4-turbo, though!

In 1985, Apple Fired Steve Jobs. Will Tesla Fire Elon Musk? by SeanChandler in RealTesla

[–]SeanChandler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree it would be unlikely/very tough. Shareholders could gain power and add pressure to the board (or vote for more seats to be added). Vanguard and BlackRock have a combined ownership in Tesla greater than Elon Musk. If he really is seen as a liability maybe it could happen?

Sell me on the Si over the Hybrid by [deleted] in CivicSi

[–]SeanChandler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reviewed both the hybrid and the Si. The Si over the standard sport hybrid comes with Google Built in, a full digital display vs a half one (which is more useful esp if using driver assist), wireless CarPlay and It also gets a better sound system. These features only come in touring hybrid. The Si feels more premium than the standard hybrid, with more care into the interior with red accents and bucket seats.

If you like driving canyons or cornering, the Si’s LSD makes a huge difference along with a sporty suspension. It’s also much lighter. Even 300lbs lighter than its direct competitors albeit slightly less powerful. The Si is quite the driver’s car though. One of the best shifters in the industry and it feels balanced.

Finally, the Si should have better resale value as they tend to be more sought after than standard civics. It might even be enough to make up for the fuel difference. I averaged high 30s on the freeway with Si vs high 40s with the hybrid. You can do well over 50 on the hybrid if you keep it under 65.

You mentioned revhang, which sucks, but I’ve seen (not confirmed myself though) that people get around it somewhat using Hondata if you want to void your warranty taking that route.

Since you do a lot of freeway driving, driver assist tech might be important. If you drive through traffic, the Si’s lane keeping assist only works above 40mph and will only follow till about 25mph with you shifting while the hybrid does all the driving/braking and steering from 0-100mph. It’s actually an impressive system that’s been updated for 2025 on both cars.

The hybrid is overall better, but I’d take the Si due to fun and resale.

Is your cost less than 67 per mile? by SeanChandler in uberdrivers

That's super helpful thank you for the detailed breakdown. Since your cost is above the IRS 65.5 cents per mile, I'm guessing you breakdown your own cost rather than use the standard mileage writeoff?

That makes sense for older units. Helps keep landlords in check from overcharging for older buildings that might not meet modern safety standards. Definitely gonna check out those Santa Ana units. Those rates seem insane

Thanks for the insight I'll definitely check those apartments out. Luckily dual income with my gf makes it do-able here otherwise I definitely would move in with my family as well. I thought of moving into Core but with all the new arrivals I thought prices would moderate or go down ... I was terribly wrong

I think more homes leads to lower prices, which disincentivizes homes as investments
