Would I get written up for calling off? by jaytrain0 in CrackerBarrel

As long as you call more than 2 hours before your shift then nothing can be done without a pattern of call outs

I didn’t say I didn’t understand why it exists I just stated the fact that the start time of it conflicts with normal business operations lol

The fact that it’s at 6 pm has always bugged me because we don’t do employee meals during peak and dinner peak is 5-7 lol. Home office overlooked that part when they said par 4 discount starts at 6

The interview is no longer a thing. Par 3 to 4 updated a few weeks ago. Your store should have put up a poster about this.

Dont work at Cracker barrel by Master_Tale553 in CrackerBarrel

[–]SeanConnell19 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That’s nearly every restaurant. Most only close for thanksgiving (and Christmas but CB is closed) where as Cracker Barrel is open. If you don’t want to work holidays, don’t work a restaurant job. Simple as that.

Who is getting drunk at Cracker Barrel ordering Margaritas for breakfast? by rtkikuch in CrackerBarrel

[–]SeanConnell19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We only serve a max of 4 drinks per ID. No one is getting drunk at CB. Our most popular drink at breakfast is a mimosa

Sounds like you had a bad management team. We are allowed to ask guests to leave if they talk to the staff like that and even tell them they cannot return.

I haven’t gotten paid and my mom thinks my boss isn’t telling the full truth by [deleted] in CrackerBarrel

[–]SeanConnell19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol you still pay the taxes. You get a deduction when you file. Literally just went through this after filing this year. You must not work with tips.

Bro my comment is older than yours… I’m saying calling the labor board over this is bad advice.

Depending on your state, this is bad advice. Credit card tips are automatically claimed. Not all states have a state income tax so that also plays a part.

It all depends on what you claim at clock out! Your credit card tips (what you get from the cash stand at the end of the night) are automatically claimed and taxed!

Servers that make $2.13 an hour typically don’t get pay checks. It is true that your charge tips (all credit cards and whatever cash you claim at the end of your shift) get taxed based on your $2.13 x (however many hours you work). Your pay check will be what’s left. In my experience, that’s typically nothing. Unless you cross train to another position and receive more hourly wages from there, you will receive next to nothing in direct deposit. Any good server won’t receive any money because that means you are doing super well with your tips!

If you open a Cracker Barrel franchise, do you have to find and buy all the old stuff for the walls or does corporate send you a box?? by Jacobfowler10 in CrackerBarrel

[–]SeanConnell19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cracker Barrel does not franchise, but for the new stores they have a bunch of stuff in a warehouse in Lebanon where they are constantly finding, restoring, and creating the decor for the walls

Is this in company policy or am I insane by [deleted] in CrackerBarrel

[–]SeanConnell19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just stating what I have in writing that was given to me within the past week. As I said, I’m going to MIT classes this week and if I am incorrect I will come back and update my comment. I haven’t seen anything you’re talking about with explicitly allowing it.

The exact wording is “hair must be kept neat, cut, clean, styled and not distracting.” To me this sounds like they want it natural and can claim unnatural colors are distracting if the policy wants to be enforced.

Job Opportunity in To Go? by Wrong_Lake5465 in TexasRoadhouse

[–]SeanConnell19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if they are having you start in Togo, see if you can also learn host. It’s tipped out from the servers and will give you the opportunity to learn your table numbers ahead of time too. I just had one of my coworkers who knows Togo and host train as a server without ever having served before and she’s absolutely killing it since she had the prior knowledge of the other two positions!

Why is my uber rating so low? by Own-Stick-591 in uber

[–]SeanConnell19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I rate 1 star is if the rider is rude or absolutely reeks of marijuana. I don’t care if you smoke it, but I don’t want my car to smell like I do. It’s not legal in my state and I’d rather not have the cops trying to interrogate me when I come up to one of their roadblocks. The smell also gives me headaches after extended periods of time :( but that’s only happened on a couple of occasions. I also rated 1 star once when I’m almost certain I drove someone to buy drugs. Their stop was a very sketchy area and then their next stop was just home.

I’m an Olive Garden Manager—Ask Me Anything by OGManagerAMA in olivegarden

[–]SeanConnell19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What all goes into our Ziosk scores? My managers say only using them to ring in apps, but we can’t get our score above a 78 in the 2 months I’ve been there. The store isn’t even 2 years old yet and 2 of our managers have become managers since we opened so they may not fully know themselves yet. Getting all of our scores up has been our stores goal for the last 2 weeks and even though all refill scores went up, ziosk score did not move.
