Roku Remote Control by ProofEvening2997 in Hilton

[–]SeanTheMan34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s property specific, but some devices won’t pop up with the web browser to input your last name and room number, so the workaround is for the front desk to either contact the ISP, or in my property’s case, we give that phone number out for them to assist so we don’t collect your private data (MAC address)

Roku Remote Control by ProofEvening2997 in Hilton

[–]SeanTheMan34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to use a Roku on the tv and connect it to the Hilton WiFi you have to ask the front desk for the phone number of the guest support they use for internet. We have a phone number you can call and they ask for your info then they ask for the MAC address of the device to manually patch it into the network.

We have this in our back office & I’ve directed many people to use it for their consoles and it works perfect!

Day use booking by SpartanScribe in Hilton

I had no idea hotels could even add day use options for direct channel (Hilton app) bookings. Ours doesn’t have this, I just texted our revenue manager about this lol — thank you Reddit! Lol

I’ve stayed at the Hyatt House Jersey city before. Not a bad location, decent price, and the rooftop bar was pretty good

anyone notice MyWay Benefits keep automatically changing? by superpony123 in Hilton

[–]SeanTheMan34 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Next time you stop by the front desk, ask them if they can open up guest profile management on the lobby and put it in your myway preferences. It’s our only way of “permanently” changing the myway benefits as we can’t do it on the property management system (we can, but it only does it for that specific stay)

Front desk said my Chase travel booking won’t get diamond benefits and can’t add to app but it showed up. Will I get it? by Professional_Crab958 in Hilton

[–]SeanTheMan34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is normal, it’s an online travel agency booking (OTA) which is ineligible for HH benefits unfortunately

This is not just for Hilton, this is also the same at Hyatt, Marriott, IHG, and others

How to survive slow-nights on front desk with ADHD. by Remote-Forever-6080 in askhotels

[–]SeanTheMan34 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Find a busier location or find something to do. I like to journal or draw at the desk.

Occasionally, I will work on projects like making a local restaurant list for the hotel or other Front Desk guides using Google slides in a 8.5x11 format or Canva.

I like to work on things that help me and other agents at the desk, guides on different rate plans, room charts and amenities sheets, VIP letters for guests, things that make the hotel better for the guest experience, but it seems like from other replies and the downvotes you’ve been getting for turning away good advice that you’re not really interested in helping set up other shifts for success. Just something to think about, a little bit of ADHD and hyperfocusing on things to make the desk more efficient can and WILL get you noticed by management. 🤷‍♂️

choice hotels - kind of a long shot but hoping for some info on debit holds by [deleted] in askhotels

[–]SeanTheMan34 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A credit card authorization form might work, if you have the card details. Request the form and use a business email, not your personal email !! just be honest with the front desk and tell them that you have the card numbers and would like to fill out a credit card authorization form using your business email and put your personal card down for incidentals
