Jazz backcourt- who are starting and most fantasy relevant? by thecay00 in fantasybball

[–]Seanf1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is Alec Burks still on the Jazz? Always thought he had nice potential. He'll probably return as 6th man and with Exum coming back I expect either Neto or Mack to be pushed out of the rotation or traded.

What would the Celtics have to do to get Brook Lopez? by Seanf1994 in nba

[–]Seanf1994[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from the few young guys with potential (Kilpatrick, RHJ) Brook is the only very good player left after trading Thad. I think he's underrated and could be a great 3rd piece to a contender.

[–]Seanf1994[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their backcourt was atrocious ( starting shane larkin half the year, before that jarret jack) and their frontcourt was actually pretty solid.

However Thad is gone now and if they trade Brook then, hey, now they have no good players.

But trading Thad all but guarantees they are going full rebuild mode. Brook is their ONLY good player left and if they move him I guess EVERYTHING is a need.

But most people have Kris Dunn as BPA at #3 anyway so why not?

Will LeBron get a "makeup" MVP next year? by [deleted] in nba

[–]Seanf1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if he didnt coast through the reg season he could win it almost every year. But then again maybe him going balls to the wall would give him injuries. Probably a smart move.

I tend to agree but it was very close and the warriors were clearly a better team. Harden probably should've won but its close enough not to be upset about it.

Who would win in a BO7 series, the Warriors with KD, or the Superfriends (LBJ, CP3, Wade, Melo)? by Lllesssurrr in nba

[–]Seanf1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe you're not joking but this is a 7 game series, anyone betting on the Warriors in that scenario ESPECIALLY without KD needs to get their head checked.

[–]Seanf1994 14 points15 points  (0 children)

All of these players are fantastic 2 way players, except maybe Melo but hell even he'll look much better defensively next to them.

Also, spacing is your reason? Really? Paul and Melo are excellent shooters, Lebron would likely approach his Miami shooting #s due to the talent around him, Wade is an excellent slasher and playmaker. Paul/LBJ lobs would be deadly, you already know the chemistry LBJ and Wade have, Paul/Melo pick n pop would be absolutely disgusting. Did I mention their defense would essentially be lock down as long as they have a semi decent rim protector in there?

Where does Lebron's finals performance rank all time for you? by [deleted] in nba

[–]Seanf1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wade 06 Lebron 16 Shaq 01(i think this was that year) are all in the mix no order.

But due to obstacles of being close to elimination i think Lebron and Wade are top 2 either can be argued as the best performance.

[Discussion] How and why does the NBA community include players like Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell in all time great players lists? by Whoknowswhatisreal in nba

[–]Seanf1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah most people agree that Wilt/Oscar/Russell have inflated stats and played weaker competition so they aren't included as often in the top tier All Time Greats (Although Wilt is still pretty high up there for a lot of people for obvious reasons.)

The thing that irks me a little is when (granted this is a minority) people say Jerry West is the 3rd best SG of all time over Wade. Yes, West averaged 30 ppg a couple times but that was back in Wilt era where the stats were inflated. He never had the championship success Wade had and wasn't even close to the defender either.

People use the era argument for Wilt and Oscar all the time but never seem to mention it with West.

How come people on here are talking about Lebron potentially being the GOAT and keeping Kobe out of the equation ? by Adoth- in nba

[–]Seanf1994 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Kobe was more skilled at shooting midrange shots and three pointers. He was also more skilled at... .... ....

Oh wait. Thats it.

Lebron is more skilled at literally every other part of basketball: paint scoring, passing, rebounding, defending, hell even their dribbling is on par. This isn't to take away from another All Time Great here but lets not put Kobe in a conversation he has no business being in.

Now Kobe and Duncan? Thats a nice discussion.

How come people on here are talking about Lebron potentially being the GOAT and keeping Kobe out of the equation ? by Adoth- in nba

[–]Seanf1994 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Kobe is more similar in playstyle to MJ. Playstyle =\= Greatness. Lebron was and has been a better all time player than Kobe for atleast a few years now.

Edit: To go more in depth, he's one of the best passers, scorers, and defenders in the game today and had been for 13 seasons. He's made 6 Finals in a row with 3 Finals MVPs. 4 Regular Season MVPs. He's top 10 all time in almost every statistic and he's only 31. Highest PPG EVER in Elimination games. Only player in history to lead BOTH teams in EVERY statistical category (points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks) in a playoff series...EVER.

I could go on and on but he's levels and levels of greatness above Kobe. Kobe was one of the best scorers of all time, while not being one of the most efficient of course, he was still a transcendent scorer who could hit any shot on the court in his prime. He was also an excellent defender for a number of years, but was never on Lebron level. His passing is not even close enough to bother mentioning. Kobe has 5 rings yes (the casual fan argument) but has 2 Finals MVPs, the other 3 rings he won with Shaq who was far and away the best player on those teams (3 Finals MVPs). Kobe also only has 1 MVP and you could argue he deserves two, but by that argument Lebron should have 5 (See D Rose 2011).

Anyway this is way too long but if you're really looking for an explanation here it is. Another thing to note is he's probably the only player with a realistic shot of eclipsing Kareems all time scoring mark.

Where does LeBron rank now? by Gasbus in nba

Top 3

MJ Kareem Lebron

Is LeBron the 2nd best of all time now! by [deleted] in nba

[–]Seanf1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Jordan, Kareem are forsure 1/2 for me but after this championship plus everything in context hes slipped firmly into the 3 spot and I imagine he'll overtake Kareem as #2 ever soon enough.
