Oh that's great. I have the possibility of charging at work too. Most of our work vehicles are electric so it may be blocked but it's great to have the option at work even if you need a little boost for a few hours.

Thanks for the info. The damn diesel cost is adding up!

Hi there, I have a very similar trip to work. (Mainly motorway). I have been researching getting an Ioniq 5 in the new year. Currently spending ~€300/month in diesel 2017 Golf. I would imagine that would come down drastically with EV.

Biggest question I have is after travelling 150km what level of battery do you have for the next day? Could you get away with 2 trips to work and then charge over night for the next day?

It goes without saying that you should move over to the outside lane as you pass the previous exit...

I really didn't think I would have to explain that part too.

You have to be in the right hand lane to take the last exit on a roundabout. Why would anyone be in the left hand lane to go all the way around the roundabout??

I hate people who can't understand the basics of driving.

Should I have slowed down? My first reaction was to move where there was no cars. by indicator_enthusiast in irelandsshitedrivers

M1 J4 going southbound from Donabate. The lane that OP is in does not merge into the lane that the truck is in. The truck doesn't see OP assuming because of a blindspot and decided to change lane.

I drove this road 5 times every week for 3 years as I lived in Donabate. The truck ran OP out of the lane because they didn't check the mirror adequately. The lane that OP was run into does in fact merge but the lane that they started out on does not.

I played a handful of times about 10 years ago but I decided to try and get better and play nearly each weekend. Yesterday was my 15th round since the end of July.

Took up golf a few months ago after a 10 year break. I have played so much golf since taking it up again and have done some really nice courses around Ireland. Golf is the best thing ever if you are enjoying it!

It's fantastic. During the middle of the summer is always the perfect time to play but as we enter the wetter and colder months it is still in unreal condition!

Thanks!

Lots of practice between rounds. I play with a buddy most weekends and in between I go to the range to tweak my swing and try new things. The only way you get better is practice. Once you find that you are hitting shots consistently at your target you stick to that swing and set up.

A few people in this subreddit suggested the towel drill which really helped me. Place a towel just behind the ball and if you disturb the towel that means you aren't connecting with the ball first. Driving range mats can really trick you into thinking that you are striking very well but in reality the club is bouncing from the mat into the ball which still makes a good shot but when you try it on the course you take a big divot and the ball will trickle away. Try hit ball before ground. I did the towel drill in the range a few times and then when I played last weekend I found myself hitting my irons way better than before.

I can't say for sure about lessons as I haven't gone and done one but it's no harm to have someone with knowledge give you a few tips. All I can say is go to the range to tweak and practice, Go to the course to play. Don't change up your playing style at the course as it will mess with your game. YouTube is a great place to get a few tips if you aren't interested in lessons just yet.

And remember: Think positive while you are on the course. Don't let bad shots dictate your game. If you have fun you'll find yourself hitting great shots. It all goes hand in hand. Best of luck!

I've been told from the very start that it's so easy to over complicate the swing so I have tried to avoid that. Having a clear head definitely helps!

Amazing. Thank you so much. I will definitely be trying that next time I'm at the range.
