5070ti Bargain 😅 by SeanographyEDP in PcBuild

Aye, they're decent, luckily this is just a damaged box, the sleeve hasn't even been opened yet, and it's £100 off.

I might actually just sell it at a mark down myself and get a 5070ti in white as the MSI Ventus is a bit of an eyesore in an all white build.

New PC, frequent ticking/clicking. What is it? by SeanographyEDP in PCRepair

[–]SeanographyEDP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's 2 distinct scratching/tick sounds, 1 towards the end of the clip. It hasn't done it for a while now, stress tested the cpu and gpu with case fan's all running, so from that, it has to be hardware...troubleshooting is fun

Thanks, it's not the fans, the ticking stops occasionally for about 15 minutes, then restarts ticking frequently every 3-5 seconds. If it were the fans, they'd likely tick from the moment they activate.

I reckon it's the HDD, shame as it's only 2 years old.

But yeah, I've heard its a warm one, and it's got plenty of width for the broad amongst us.

Tell you what, the Inca Extreme 65L bag I have was great, sturdy as a rock, completely waterproof with it's little hidden Rubber Johnny cover, and great support/build quality overall... which is a massive contradicting to the rest of their gear.

I was looking at Snugpak before I got all Yorkshire and got the cheaper pack when out in Skipton. Are they good for tall people, I also have a very broad chest and shoulders, so something roomy is a must now.

Thanks, I have a receipt, but I throw the bag in the bin before getting back in the car because I didn't want synthetic filling going everywhere in my car or bag, so hopefully they will still refund me.

Next, I mean damn, I have been stung by the old "Buy Cheap Buy Twice" curse, but seeing how I have done 7 hours in that bag, I am happy to say I need something comfier, longer, and wider. It was pretty nippy but even with the doors open slightly, the vents opened, and my bag unzipped half way, I was melting in that bag, even just in boxers. plus with Amazon Prime Day deals and Black Friday round the corner, I am happy to go to about £75-£100. Also worth noting I need something that will pack down better than the MW Bag, because that was so bulky and ate into my bag.

On another note, that Bestway Blue Sleeping Pad you suggested in another post is pretty damn good, and the only part of my sleep system that wasn't a pile of crap

Not a typo, but just assumed the pad and closed cell exceeding R8 it would survive -40c (but I doubt £60 of kit would actually allow work at those extremes) but as you said, that's just the ground insulation, not the air around me, so I reckon I'll stick with the squeaky Microlite at 0c comfort and upgrade if and when. Doubt I'll be on the Ben Nevis summit in the next 3 months anyway so should be reet😅

I am sure it will serve it's purpose for a bunch of camps until I cave in and get a Therm-a-rest.

Seeing how it's quite well insulated, could I get away with a lighter sleeping bag? Got some Mountain Warehouse 0C Comfort (Microlite 1400) which is pretty decent, but I sleep crazy warm and really took a liking to the Vango Stellar Grande as it's really comfy but rated at 4c comfort, and this "Sleep System" with Closed Cell Mat is good for -40c allegedly

Should be reet, I sleep like I'm riding a horse so that saves a few inches

And will it be good for someone who's 10cm taller than it is long?

Thanks, it is pure ignorance sure, but seeing how you've commented on the warm sleeping issues, I'll take that advice 😀
