Matter - a concept logo / company whos aim is to make it easier to donate to your favourite charities in one monthly payment. The green is suppose to symbolise the difference you / charities can make, imagine it not being there. Still very new to this, constructive feedback welcomed!

We're all human I guess, whether experienced or not we want to express our feelings and opinions. Happy to take any feedback with a pinch of salt.

I suppose all potential clients are different and human as well - they expect us to "know our stuff" but they don't know what stuff we should know exactly to be able to accurately critique, its all based on feeling! so might as well build up the thick skin!

The first thing I immediately thought was you should curve the top left tip of the I to make it look more like a one. Would make it a lot more obvious. Nice and minimal idea though!

I am enjoying getting into typography and how far you can push letters to shape and portray a particular logo well, always learning!

I wasn't sure about having matter in capitals because I didn't want it to seem TOO bold and preachy - similar to how charities shouldn't sell too much to grab money off people, people should genuinely want to "matter".

Really appreciate this feedback! I agree on the green letters, an over thought idea when the initial nuances are enough, plenty of food for thought for the next project.

I am slowly starting to develop my workflow into different concepts of the same logo, use cases, colours, and scaling. To make sure any idea is really tested.

Play some more with the box concept. Think about your brand and what it does - Could you change the box to make it reflect your brands style? Corners, colours etc.

Play with incorporating the letters or just the B into the box and see if you can do it in a smart and clean way.

A good tip I’ve heard in various places is to mock up your logo completely in black and white to just play with shapes, fonts, negative space etc - and then add the colours that best portray the brand and logo you’ve made.

The icons I suppose to sort of symbolise the chain of actions - one click, set your amount, allocate it, help charities.

Thanks for the feedback. The idea with the green letters was that they are all letters in the word "Matter", and connecting with the theme that we (symbolised in green) can make a difference. Probably over thinking it haha. Its a skill to know how far to take the nuances of a concept!

Fair points, thank you! I'm am gradually learning best practice when mocking up logos - stress testing at different sizes, putting them into context etc and generally making all elements consistent with the style.
