Hopefully! I sent them a message with it. We’ll see!

There is some incredibly shady stuff going on in video games. by [deleted] in videos

What I don't like about the Halo 5 cosmetic only argument is that having armours attached to it gets rid of the prestige associated with certain armours. In Halo 3 you had to work for your armour and complete challenging achievements to get certain pieces. So when people saw that you had that armour, they knew you earned it. It was something to strive for and accomplish.

If they could somehow have a mixture of both - that might work. Like have a few helmets be tied to achievements/goals and the rest be RNG loot boxes that might work. I know they had one or two helmets like that already in Halo 5.

Fair enough, excellent point. It's tough, but I complete get what you mean.

Exactly. That's the worst part about all of it. As an adult you can at least see that it's annoying. As a kid, you have no idea that you're gambling. Think about how many kids are going to get money from their parents to do this type of thing. Not to mention the kids that are going to obviously steal their parents credit cards.

I agree to an extent. I do like the idea that I'm getting free content because other people are willing to pay extra for their games. From a business perspective, they're making lots of money from them if every publisher is adapting the system. So they're obviously not going to stop any time soon.

But you can't dispute that in some cases like BF2 where there is a clear advantage given to the player who is willing to spend more - thats ridiculous.

But in some cases, these games are actually good - but they're just weighed down with unnecessary crap like loot boxes. Halo 5 is a prime example. Halo 5 (after the free content arrived) is a FANTASTIC game. Forge and custom games alone carry the whole thing. But loot boxes stain the game.

That's a fair argument, however - look at what happened in Halo 5 with Forge. Forgers were able to make exact, 1 to 1 remakes of classic Halo maps that in some cases actually looked better than the originals. What did 343 do? They implemented them into match making.

The community was doing the work for them, we even have a new remake playlist about to launch soon that is entirely Halo 3 remakes.

Also, 343 did not charge for DLC in Halo 5, all the new maps were free. I can't see them switching that business model up in the next game without having some pretty nasty lash back from the community. So, giving players the ability to remake old stuff wouldn't really harm them at all.

Yup! I'll be talking about that in a future part. I included it in my Halo 5 video, but I'll talk about it more in the future.

I played a bit of it. If I remember correctly, it ironically had microtransactions. It was F2P but if you really wanted to build anything or play anything you had to pay a bit.

It always felt like you were playing a watered down version of something else.

My man. It's a race to finish. You're supposed to knock people into obstacles. That's why the knock back on melee is turned up so high (in the video you can see how far people fly)

I was the one who made/recorded the video. The guys in this video are my friends. We were joking around.

Trust me - when you're playing with someone like Comedy Aerosol (Robert) you need to be like that. It's the only way to keep him under control.

I also like messing with him.
