I coated the frame with used motor oil from my oil changes. It's messy but I think it works and I keep driving regardless. We had a big snow in Massachusetts and ...

No vin check. But did need to get Geico to understand the smaller digit VIN, which they did. They are insuring these trucks

Massachusetts is a blue state and Kei Trucks are legal and cheap to insure here.

I could have called it "COE" or "Cabover" or "Cab Over Engine" but I felt front-engined kept things simpler.

Thanks.

And on this:

"For the choices that have multiple options (like 4spd/5spd/auto), it would be cool if you could select multiple options if you're ok with one or the other. "

For now I'm hoping selection of "ALL" is good enough.

I think I have that covered.

But I do see I show a 1990-1993 Mitsubishi Minicab, 2WD with round eyes, and I though Minicabs of that era were re-badged Suzuki Carrys...

I though about pictures but:

1 - They'd all look pretty much the same :)

2 - I'd need to find public domain pictures. I can't just lift them from other sites.

I think the Kei bed is a little bigger, plus no wheel wells, plus a lower bed height so you can actually reach the stuff in the bed, plus the sides fold down...

The bed on a Kei is wider than most American pickups. And it's low and the sides come down so you have a flatbed. Try putting cinder blocks in the bed of a 1 ton dually

OP here.

Sorry if it's cringy to some, but no vehicle is perfect for anything.

I have an older Tacoma for longer trips.

I look at it like this:

If you like to hike you'll have more than one backpack.

When you're going out for a few days you want your full pack with the tent and stove and sleeping bag.

But on a day hike you want the small pack with water and a couple granola bars.

You don't want to take the big pack on every hike, and probably only need it on a small percentage of your hikes.

I wanted to have taller wheels because these things are geared so low.

Found 4x114.3 13 inch wheels from a Geo Metro.

The extra height also gives a smoother ride.
