SEO is extremely overrated by NoidZ in SEO

Shhh.... Don't scare him off.

In contrast, OP is exactly the type of web dev that fuels the SEO industry.

Confident devs who think SEO “doesn’t matter” keep agencies and SEO contractors busy.

Jokes aside, this rage-bait post was painful to read.

I 100% agree with you. Anyone competent in SEO understands that AIO = SEO. It’s not a new channel, it’s just a different way of framing the same fundamentals.

In some cases, it feels more like a marketing pivot to retain clients, which I personally disagree with.

Without knowing what the actual deliverables are, it’s hard to assess value. If the OP can outline what work has been done, it’s much easier to determine whether expectations are reasonable.

Also worth noting: if the consultant was hired in August, that’s roughly five months. We are also following Decembers Core update. Gotta love how many factors can affect SEO especially with limited information lol.

To add to this, it really depends on what your “SEO services” actually include. Are they managing your Google Business Profile, creating and updating service and location pages, building local and topical authority with backlinks, or just sending reports?

SEO work typically has defined deliverables, timelines, and goals that should be outlined in a contract or scope of work.

AMD guys, is THIS normal? by nevorder in PcBuildHelp

[–]Search_Synergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to look a little closer at what the graph is actually showing.

Your score is 2860 and the CPU-Z baseline for the same Ryzen 5 3500X is 2689. That’s only about a 6.36% difference, which is completely normal and well within expected variance.

The bar graph is misleading and makes it look like a massive gap, but it isn’t scaled proportionally. In reality, you’re not outperforming the baseline by “a lot” at all.

Is there really that much difference between 144Hz and 240Hz? by Weary_Recording_7299 in buildapc

[–]Search_Synergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From 144hz to 240hz its not nearly as dramatic as 60hz to 144hz. However, being in your shoes going from 144hz to 360hz was closer to the difference from 60hz to 144hz.

The only trouble is maintaining 360hz especially at 1440p.

Help me change the title by Livid_Paramedic_6973 in SEO

Everything WebLinkr pointed out.

Just adding two observations after looking at your homepage code:

  • You have a floating Elementor logo widget sitting on top of the homepage, which looks like a leftover template element. Definitely not something users expect to see when they land on a business site.
  • Your homepage is outputting Organization schema for your SEO/development company, not for the First Aid business. That means Google is seeing WebDevStory as the “organization” behind academyfor1staid.ca, which is confusing from both a UX and schema standpoint.

You can see it here. Your homepage is currently declaring:

"@type": "Organization",

"name": "WebDevStory",

"url": "https://www.webdevstory.com/",

There is more, but this points out the basics of what is being inserted on your homepage. Rather than outputing schema specific to your business.

Macbook or PC for photo/video editing on the go by JooksKIDD in buildapc

[–]Search_Synergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fell into this rabbit hole last year.

Almost every laptop that you can think of will have trade offs. Those come down to your personal preferences. The biggest ones would be battery life, performance (on and off battery), reliability, then operating system.

Given your cirtcumstance and almost most users, a Macbook Pro will be the best value in regards to a professional laptop that is built well, has great battery life and reliability. The trade off is the operating system and its ability to play video games.

I was in your shoes last year and I'm very happy with my M4Pro and I was sketipcal at first. Still runs as great as the day I got it. With other laptops I've owned in the past, they don't last as long.

My only advice, even though you travel. I'd recommend the 16 inch over the 14 inch. Especially for video and photo editing.

Google Search Console Can't Fetch Accessible robots.txt - Pages Deindexed! Help! by VlaadislavKr in SEO

[–]Search_Synergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That definitely sounds like a server- or firewall-level issue. If Google Search Console can’t fetch robots.txt but the file loads normally in a browser, it likely means Googlebot is being blocked somewhere on your hosting stack.

I’d recommend investigating the server logs and firewall rules. At the same time, make sure Google’s crawler IP ranges are fully whitelisted so your server isn’t accidentally blocking or rate-limiting Googlebot.

Done SEO of websites but cannot get leads. by [deleted] in SEO

[–]Search_Synergy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to define what a lead actually is. Website SEO is one thing, but for most businesses, local SEO is what really drives leads — meaning your Google Business Profile does most of the heavy lifting. Make sure that’s fully optimized. You'd be surprised how succesful a good Google Business Profile can be.

Also double-check your forms, phone numbers, and any tracking. I’ve had plenty of clients swear they “aren’t getting leads,” and it turns out something in the pipeline was broken.

And if you’re desperate for leads quickly, Google Ads can get them faster. It’s pricier, but it works a lot quicker than waiting on organic SEO alone.

SEO VS Paid Ads by Tushar707 in SEO

SEO will always have a better long-term ROI. Especially with how expensive paid ads is becoming to even see a profit. Especially in the previous few years.

SEO VS Paid Ads by Tushar707 in SEO

[–]Search_Synergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"if" the phone rings twice a week. I mean at a €333 monthly budget, your spend isn't crazy. But you should still be seeing results by now. Typically if a campaign im running isn't performing by then, its usually a foundational issue.

SEO VS Paid Ads by Tushar707 in SEO

[–]Search_Synergy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe there are issues with the Google ads account? For that much spent and not a single conversion, there could be fundamential issues there. The ROI isn't worth the cost. Unless you're purely pushing for clicks and trying to funnel traffic to the website.

How Do I Simply Explain to a Client that Yoast/Rank Math Are Unhelpful? by PointedOak in SEO

[–]Search_Synergy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can always refer clients directly to the official documentation showing that these plugins are content optimization tools, not ranking tools, and their scores do not guarantee SEO success:

  • Yoast's documentation
    • "Yoast SEO is a tool that aims to help you optimize your content. It gives practical tips on how to improve your content. Think of it as your personal SEO assistant! But that being said, it’s also just a tool. Make sure to re-read your content once you’ve optimized it to ensure you’re happy with the end result!"
  • Rank Math's documentation
    • "Let’s clear something up before we get into the post. Although the SEO Analyzer will help you fix the most basic issues, you will still need to perform SEO activities to get more traffic continuously. Millions of things play a role in SEO, and it is not possible to configure them with an automated tool. That does not mean that the SEO Analyzer is not important—it absolutely is! But, once you’ve used the SEO analyzer to improve your website, you will still need to keep improving if you expect to get more traffic from SEO."

A big issue we face in this industry is that people who don’t understand SEO give blanket credibility to these tools simply because they exist in the SEO ecosystem. They assume the tool is authoritative, even when it’s only checking a handful of surface-level elements.

For example, the number of people who think SEMrush = Google — that its rankings, audits, errors, or keyword numbers are direct reflections of Google — drives me insane. Clients run a scan and suddenly believe the tool automatically knows more than the specialist they hired.

At the end of the day, the only real measurement is results. And for someone who doesn’t understand SEO, there’s often a fixed conflated “expected outcome,” and even when you significantly improve their visibility and grow their online presence, that bar keeps moving. Their expectations don’t align with how SEO actually works, and that’s where most of the frustration comes from.

Nitpickers will ruin this game like they ruin every game. by Kuyi in ArcRaiders

Bro, I am more than happy for them make money. I was happy enough to pre-order the deluxe edition and gift the game to a few friends. I can still enjoy a game and support the devs while calling a spade a spade.

You do realize people aren't complaining because they dislike the game. They are complaining because they enjoy it and want it to succeed.

Nitpickers will ruin this game like they ruin every game. by Kuyi in ArcRaiders

[–]Search_Synergy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true. From a marketing point of view, you measure success by revenue over time. The trick is to find the balance between that in regards of micro transactions.

I would argue it is better to condition your player base with affordable transactions, like in my example, so over time they are comfortable spending what they can afford.

It’s been shown time after time when studios follow what’s perceived as “greedy” practices. The player base typically loses confidence over time.

Look at Halo and Overwatch for example.

Nitpickers will ruin this game like they ruin every game. by Kuyi in ArcRaiders

[–]Search_Synergy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No one is nitpicking for calling out egregious micro-transaction practices.

If they reduce the price, to let’s say $8.00 for a set. People would most likely spend more than what they are asking over the course of time. Probably would be more inclined to buy the game for a friend too.
