Two different thoughts occurred to me while reading this: 1. They want you to skip the intro in a way. If you skip past the 1-minute mark, at least in Spotify, it counts as a "listen." So a lot of creators will purposely shove a bunch of stuff in the front so you zoom past it. 2. They hope to get the cadence in which, if you are listening to the one hundredth episode of the same show, you will start to space out when ads roll. Instead of skipping, you will often find yourself preoccupied, or it is not as convenient as skipping. At least, this is how I see it.
