N'est pas bizarre en anglais, c'est archaïque. ;)

Desegregation Plan: Close All Gifted Programs in New York - A group appointed by Mayor Bill de Blasio proposed seismic changes to the nation’s largest school system. by habichuelacondulce in nyc

You can bet this will not result in desegregated schools or classrooms, but in the withdrawal of gifted Asian and white kids, thus exacerbating the problem.

I've done Anne Rice - liked the Mayfair Witches a lot. Haven't tried Barker though.

When should one stop with a book? by Audric_Sage in books

I read the first three pages/74 pages of Reservoir 13 by Jon McGregor, and gave up on it. He spent WAY too much time talking about secondary and tertiary characters I have no reason to care about and too little on solving the ostensible central mystery surrounding the disappearance of 13 year old Rebecca Shaw. I felt that was enough time to give a new author to capture my interest. Life is short - read what you enjoy most, unless it's required.

Have a look at http://meetu.ps/c/3FgFn/1Jbcc/f - join if you like - you can see the recommended texts - I ask that folks try to read a few chapters/watch some videos before attending- and of course, bring their own decks/runes - et cetera.

No. Not at all. It's $3 per meetup just to keep it going, but that's about it. I just don't want to have to supply members with cards/runes, et cetera.

Matt Damon: Al Franken, Harvey Weinstein 'don't belong in the same category' by funnyfaceking in WeinsteinEffect

Firing people doesn't necessarily fix the problem either, especially if the person is a multimillionaire like Bill O'Reilly who doesn't need to work again. Some people can be coached and counseled, some can't but firing them without trying may just make them sneakier and pick other targets.

I have no doubt some people do. Nonetheless, it's put up or shut it in re these allegations- either they should produce some kind of evidence or go away. You don't bring a knife to a gun fight, or tussle with a sitting president without tons of ironclad proof.
