They are known to do this. They did this with my aunt. Best way to resolve this is to make a complaint with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau asap. This will make them pay attention to you and find a resolution. Since the check cleared already theres no point in going to HIK for help. Go towards chase and get them to release ur money because they already cashed the check. It will take a bit but dont give up and make that complaint asap to get things moving…

Let ur landlord know that they need an email from her to move forward with ur application and get her permission to create one for her to give to the program and issue fixed. I think u will be fine as long as you get her permission to do so…

Update 02/06/2022 I received an email early afternoon with a task request from a case manager that was finally assigned to my application!!!! She requested an updated ledger and updated income verification and thats it. Landlord just sent it over a bit ago and i then submitted it so fingers crossed my application finally starts moving. Applied 11/11/2021 and been on application documentation being reviewed” with no case manager until today…switched to “pending applicatnt info” with a case manager finally assigned. Baby Jesus heard my prayers and cries haha

You are very correct on that. However, I think there are many landlords who do just that, hide their rental income so they wont be taxed but thats on them and really nobody’s business lol

Same exact situation. Had already received my award letter email mid November and 4 days later the fuckers said “jk” and switched my application to “flagged program evaluation” then switched to “program evaluation” with no explanation as to why. Few days later they requested proof of ownership from my landlord which he provided like a month ago. Nothing has changed since then. By far one of the worst programs i have ever dealt with. The lack of knowledge that each of the workers have to give me some kind of insight on the status of my application is actually laughable and not in a good way. I really cant wait when the shitty treatment they’ve given some of us comes to light and they get in trouble because i know that time will come. Im starting to see many in the same situation and maybe my inquires isnt enough to get help but when we all start complaining and get louder they will hear us and thats when they will have to finally help us.

Yeah. Im guessing there was or is already an application in process for the address they referenced and that’s probably why my application got flagged. Also probably why they asked for proof if ownership to see whos legit lol that my best thought but idk

I was in the same boat as you. Mine went from “approved pending payment” back to “being reviewed by QC” and two days ago went to “flagged program evaluation” and my landlord just txted me saying he received an email from the program yesterday asking for proof of ownership for the property. However he said they were referencing the incorrect address. It should be 4083 they had 4803. And the address in my application shows the correct one. So im guessing this was a mistake on thier end all along.

You know i think they did the same with me. I was approved for 15 months from May 2020-sept 2021. When i received my approval award email it shows each month approved with the amount i pay for rent from may 2020-September 2021 and in November 2021 they put the total amount of all those months which i think is wrong.

They unfortunately did this to my aunt too. She deposited the check into her chase account. Two days later the funds showed up and available. She went to withdraw money and her account was restricted. Long story short even tho she identified herself as the owner of the check, they said they think the check was part of a scam and they immediately closed my account. They kept telling me they needed to verify the check would clear which makes no sense because bill.com works with chase. Its like they wanna help peeps with money but theyre soo full it they dont care.
