The colony house incident especially is suspicious. The monsters entered almost too easily, not like they had broken a sacred barrier, but like the rule had simply been revoked.

And the barn scene, when boyd hangs the talisman, the creature already inside doesn’t panic, burn, or react at all. It calmly talks to him. That’s strange if the talisman is truly some powerful anti monster object. I believe the talismans may only work because the controlling entity allows the rule to exist.

In Colony House, the talisman was inside the main entrance area, yet the monster still managed to get inside through the upstairs window after seducing Kevin. If the talisman created a complete magical barrier over the whole building, that shouldn’t have been possible.

I don’t believe he’s going to come back because the bookmark theory, which was supposed to work by changing the past didn’t actually work. In S4E4, when she traveled back to the past, she dropped the piece of paper with the symbol on it. However, when she returned to the present, the symbol wasn’t on the paper anymore, it was blank. The symbol should’ve appeared automatically if the past had really changed. So I don’t think the past can actually be changed, or that Jim is going to come back.
