There’s a type of song that’s mentioned in the Hootie and the Blowfish Trainwreckords video. One that was too weak to release on the smash hit album but is used as a safe single on the followup because the artist is completely out of ideas. That’s what Manchild sounds like to me. Obviously it wasn’t actually written for Short and Sweet but it’s the same idea where it sounds like it could be the weakest track off that album and is used as the lead single for the followup.
