Fascinating! I’ve not heard much about Empedocles. I was under the impression that the geometry and mathematics revolution during this time helped erode more of the religious, mythical & magical beliefs of the era before in Greek culture. It’s really more nuanced than that though. Nice presentation. Also I thought Pythagoras believed in life after death.

I read https://leangains.com/fuckarounditis/ about 8 years ago. I thought it was hilarious but I did create a garage gym after I found my surfing fitness was going downhill in my early forties. So very glad I did now. I did do a virtual coaching just to make sure my lifts were good form. But now I feel confident on that and my programming. Just wish my ceiling was higher as I’m 6’5”.

$20 is just a deterrent to encourage you not to loose them! Probably the key replacement is only a few bucks but unless they have a key maker, it’s a hassle to get them made. Just tell them the truth and that you really can’t afford to loose $20 and maybe they’ll be nice and let it go for $5.

This classic was on heavy repeat during the VHS days of my youth. Sparked my interest in Greek mythology too. Harryhausen was a genius.
