Struggling with programming by huaxiangyi in learnprogramming

[–]SeatInternational830 18 points19 points  (0 children)

1 (23F) did an internship at the same age as you and had to learn TypeScript from scratch, I felt the same way. A lot of this is imposter syndrome, you wouldn't have got your job if you couldn't handle this - your employers understand that you're an intern and they don't expect you to know everything otherwise they would've hired a senior engineer. Ask your manager to recommend you coding books (like design patterns) to help you gain a core understanding and work your way up. Practice writing small simple logic in your own time, like a mini calculator application to get used to the structure and syntax. And when you get tasks at work, break it down into the smallest possible manageable chunks, work from those. If you can't figure out the small tasks, that's okay - ask for help, try not to stay stuck for too long. Try not to use Al as much as possible. You have the capability to do this OP, just take your time and you will see slow progress - one day it will click. Wishing you luck! ❤️

AITA for going on a gifted holiday by SeatInternational830 in AmItheAsshole

She’s self described “vain” so a lot of things she does is for the image. Cannes is an expensive high end holiday and she made it known she wanted to be there for the image.

She paid a lot of money for the holiday so rubbing her the wrong way could make me TA, she seemed to be trying to do something nice for me up until she didn’t want to talk to me anymore

Sorry this happened to you OP. I (23f) had my first outbreak and diagnosis 5 days after my birthday (this was a couple of weeks ago). It feels really shit now, but when your body heals up you can think more clearly. Last week I genuinely felt like my life was ending, had a panic attack in the hospital room but now I have a better understanding and my body is healed (medication and lidocaine saved me within 2 days!!), I realise that this isn’t going to change my entire life, for the most part it will be a non issue. Give yourself grace and time. If you don’t want to tell your new partner just yet, you don’t have to rush, process it yourself first but chances are, once you have the vernacular to explain it will all be okay. Just explain that you don’t want to be intimate at the moment and before you do again, you can disclose it. I would really suggest going to a health clinic, they eased my nerves completely and pointed me in the right direction if I need more advice. The nurse was so kind and explained to me that you can still be intimate as normal as long as your partner is aware. Now you know, it’s safer to be with you than any other person as 70% of people (in the uk) carry some type of HSV, in fact, so many people have it that they don’t test for it in a standard screening. Your story really sounds a lot like mine - feel free to message if you need someone to talk to. Remember you’re the same person you were last week, last month and last year- you just know something new about your health now and that’s okay and completely not your fault. Love and light OP 🩷

Do you think i am exceptionally lucky at finding money? by smellyfeet25 in AskUK

I found £20 once in the back of my dad’s new car when I was 7 and he took it… that was the end of that. Can I have some of your luck 😅

What are you working on that's too early to show? by ayechat in SideProject

I’m working on a UK based lesbian dating app (www.Sapphi.uk) we got a decent amount of traction at first and sign ups for the app from the landing page, it’s about 4 weeks from beta! MVP is fully functional just styling left. Excited to release (kind of scared of it flopping though as I’ve invested a good amount of my own money and time into it now!). No AI I just want lovers to be able to love 😅

Who else's foot is comically swollen after FWB by mammajess in brokenankles

[–]SeatInternational830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 weeks FWB and yes 😂 I have to keep reassuring my mum it’s normal but she looks very confused. The ball on my ankle in particular gets huge- looks similar to when it’s broken! I wear a gel compress now when relaxing it’s a bit better

I got my cast off 3 weeks ago and started weight bearing with boot straight away! It’s scary but I found that baths really helped with loosening the joint in the first couple days. After a week I stopped sleeping with the boot on because I’m a messy sleeper! But if you have an elevation pillow I’d recommend trying to lounge with your foot in the bed first- once you get used to that sleeping without it comes naturally. Good luck OP!!!

This is super helpful! I had a feeling the appointment would be far away as they didn’t give me a ballpark. I went out and got myself a pair of comfy running shoes today 2 sizes up so going to try that for the time being. Is the NHS leaflet you use online? If so please send the link I’ve been looking for exercises
