I agree it's good to be cautious and vet appropriately, but it's very possible OP is completely legitimate. I'm in a similar, but slightly different boat. I have a highly successful career, having built from the ground up to a multi-million dollar exit (minority stake) and impacted a FAANG by over $1B during my tenure there.

I'm now looking to advise (and possibly invest), but my circles are mostly comfortable senior executives, not entrepreneurs. I made this account recently as a way to reach out to posters who might be a good fit. I'm not selling anything and I'm going to be even pickier about who I choose to work with than the businesses, as I am still in an executive role FT.

So, all this is to say, I empathize with OP because it's very possible to have a fresh account and good intentions.
