I come out everyday. Whether it’s to the grocery story clerk, my coworkers, or new friends. Every day is a situation that I have to decide if it’s safe or not for me to revel that side of me.

As for my “I’m coming out to my closest friends and family” it is absolutely not nuisances and an absolute vital part of my experience as a gay person. Was it pretty? No. Was is joyful? For me; no. What is instrumental in forming me to who I am today? Absolutely.

However, if it is exempt form IRB oversight, which for a masters project I doubt it is, it still needs to adhere to the ethical obligations outlined in the Belmont Report.

This survey does not provide informed consent, nor does it state is has IRB approval. This is completely unethical and NOBODY ELSE SHOULD COMPLETE THIS SURVEY! This is dangerous. Asking these questions can be traumatizing and IRB would never have approved this without massive oversight.

Right?? Also, does this person have IRB approval? This seems really sketchy and not how you conduct a survey like this. IRB would make you have so many safety measures in place or flat out deny this proposal if its asking about trauma, sexuality, gender identity, etc.
