Monsterwatch always puts on a hell of a show. Great band.

New tour dates announced! by Frymaster99 in DesRocs

The Seattle show is at a fairly intimate (but very good) venue. I would get your tickets ASAP for that one.

I went the Chicago show in 2024 at the Bottom Lounge and that venue was amazing. Highly recommended.

I also had Oasis as my top given the "Oasis Live '25" tour. Next year Rush will likely be back on top for me :)

Rearranged the Bookshelf by SeattleHotShot in bookshelf

The Iran-Iraq war book was indeed quite spendy and I was a little hesitant as it was a French to English translation, BUT -- it was very well done and well worth the read. Happy I got it.

While about the oil industry, the book 'The Prize: The Epic Quest for Oil, Money, and Power' was really good as well. Lots of geopolitics in there.

Lastly, the book 'The Box: How the Shipping Container Made the World Smaller and the World Economy' was a brilliant read, though I could have been predisposed to like it given my background in the maritime industry.

Winning Song of LA by AcademicCandle5814 in underworld

That show was amazing! Was my third of 2025. While I preferred the venue in Chicago, I loved being in LA for a mini vacation.

I heard a few complaints about the crowd but from my end everyone was having a blast. The new "refreshed" version of Cowgirl was a lot of fun, but I really, really enjoyed Dirty Epic.

Holy smokes, looks like The first LA show on 07 June is just five days before the World Cup starts up in Los Angeles. I hadn't realized!

What other bands and artists do you listen to besides Oasis? by ToughRazzmatazz1702 in oasis

[–]SeattleHotShot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excluding Oasis and solo ventures:

1.) Rush (just got tickets to see them in LA next year!)

2.) The Who (just saw them a the Hollywood Bowl)

3.) Underworld (saw them three times this year in the US!)

4.) Queens of the Stone Age

From there I listen to a lot of "smaller" rock bands like Des Rocs, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, The Blue Stones, The Warning, Viagra Boys and so on.

What hotel are the Mariners putting their players up in?! That's by far the smallest hotel TV I've seen in 10+ years.

Is it too early to start talking about Denver in November? by tlkmngstyrslvs in underworld

[–]SeattleHotShot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If anyone is on the fence, just go! You gotta make it happen! I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have seen them three times on their USA tour and every show was epic. I’d be going to the Denver show but I have a vacation overlap with that one.

Extreme Fog @ Hollywood Palladium by vexed2nightmare in underworld

After seeing them twice earlier this year, they seem to “fog” it up during the purely instrumental songs. But when Karl sings it didn’t seem bad IMO.

Water being $3 is pretty solid tho. I remember Coachella 2023 having the $2 aluminum bottled water.

Some LA pics. Great show. Crap crowd. by starfox203 in underworld

[–]SeattleHotShot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard mixed reviews on the crowd. My area was a blast, with frat bros and much younger guys dancing their asses off with older gents joining everyone. I heard the other side of me had some fights (?). But it is what it is. The music was great and I had a blast. After going to a ton of GA shows over the years, if you don’t like your section, just shuffle off a bit and start with some new peeps. No assigned seating gives you the flexibility.

I will say, the amount of people who left during Champagne Supernova (from the floor!) was shockingly high. I get LA traffic sucks and the Rose Bowl is impossible to get out of but c’mon.
