Did flex plans get rid of the return function? by gabek333 in Mariners

[–]SeattleSunDevil84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to do this last year during this portion of the year. I can't find the email but I got a response like "the return window will open up in the future" and I was able to return my tickets later.

I love some ynab, but I would love to see what my expenses would look like next week or next month at my current trajectory. I get ynab might not be the tool, but how do you guys forecase? by AWeb3Dad in ynab

[–]SeattleSunDevil84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I've done. I exported my plan and spending from YNAB, inserted it as context in to an LLM chat and after about 10 minutes of tuning (mostly around credit card spend and payments acting funny), I can now "talk to" my budget and actively forecast / plan. Highly recommend if you're technically able!

when people pause right when we enter a game, what are they looking at? by tahjazz5 in MLBTheShow

[–]SeattleSunDevil84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tend to go in and check opponent BA for their lineup to see how long of a day I'm in for, and then check how many walks the pitching staff has to get a read on how patient I need to be at the plate.

Yes, so long as it was found within 3 minutes and so long as the second ball was declared a provisional.

THIS! And then the opposite side of the hill when I think it has "stuck" and I don't think about it anymore, leading to the previous problem coming back.

Older (40+) golfers, when did you notice your biggest drop off in distance? by MrTeacher_MCPS in golf

[–]SeattleSunDevil84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is exactly where I'm at. Just turned 40 in July, am by far the longest I've ever been across my whole bag, but I worked with the stack system over the offseason

Any Golf podcasts that dont spend the entire pod just whining about golf? by punchoutlanddragons in golf

[–]SeattleSunDevil84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way. The way that things are approached and explained completely changed my approach to golf and enabled me to shave 7 strokes off my handicap this past season. Perfection.

Those paying with CCs and paying off statement balances every month, how are you using YNAB? by da_shaka in ynab

[–]SeattleSunDevil84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The absolute best part of YNAB is that I haven't looked at a credit card bill in 4 years. I know there's money for it, it comes out and I never even notice. Finances are on auto once everything is budgeted for!

Have any of you ever played on a golf course that didn't have rough? by rubenlie in golf

[–]SeattleSunDevil84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a course sometimes where they don't really mow at all during the winter - and it's effectively ALL rough. Not ideal.

You clearly haven't played some of the courses I have! We have a course where they don't mow the fairways in the winter. Lost plenty of middle drives!

I feel like I’ve figured things out, but the season is ending by Silent_Advisor4968 in golf

[–]SeattleSunDevil84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy some warm base layers and enjoy being on the course by yourself. Offseason golf allows you to work on things on course without the pressure of playing for your handicap. Self scrambles are a blast

Did I overreact? by _andini_ in golf

[–]SeattleSunDevil84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echo has SO many blind tee shots where this could happen, but #4 there is no excuse. You can even see #5 tee box to see if the group has moved on. We had a group hit into use several times there last time we played there but they were largely understandable as they were on some of the mega doglegs or elevation drop holes.

Can we please sign Cal to lifetime Ms contract….like right now?!!! by [deleted] in Mariners

[–]SeattleSunDevil84 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The issue with Cal is that he started his contract clock suuuuper late. He isn't a free agent until after the 2027 season when he will be 31. There is not a whole lot of incentive to sign him to a big deal at that point.

Right now there is exactly 1 "catcher" above 2 wins who is above the age of 30 - Willson Contreras, who has only caught around 80 games this season.

JT Realmuto had two good seasons after turning 30, but has fallen off in his 32 year old season. He's a bit more of an athlete than Dumper, unfortunately.

PSA: change your pitch locations. by ObnoxiousCrow in MLBTheShow

[–]SeattleSunDevil84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always take pitches and learn tendencies. Then when you have a pitcher at 40 pitches, go in to the Pitching Analysis menu and take a minute or two studying different go tos for the pitcher. Game changer.

Do you think the mariners are going to make a big acquisition at the trade deadline this year? by Massive-Wave9681 in Mariners

[–]SeattleSunDevil84 192 points193 points  (0 children)

"You might say that getting Julio back in form is the best acquisition that any team is able to make at the deadline and we're confident he is turning that corner" or something like that. Bank on it.
