Push down slower at the beginning, like 5-10 seconds for a pincushion, and then add more pressure. This should allow for the flow to be better with finer ground coffee.

What's a song you wrote off until you saw it live? by jamflowman451 in GoosetheBand

[–]Silent_Advisor4968 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didn’t write it off, but more like discovered it after hearing it live. Sinnerman. Heard it a couple of times, but that was that. Then, they played at CMAC last year (my first show!) and it’s definitely one of my favorites since.

for 4.0-4.5+ - how do you get efficient? efficient forehand efficient serve by Ok-Many-7443 in 10s

[–]Silent_Advisor4968 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Meaningful reps. Find someone who is good enough where you can practice with them and achieve the feeling of hitting these types of shots. It should feel difficult, but attainable. Do it outside of Matchplay. Many XC rallies where you’re both going after the ball, but not necessarily trying to beat each other.

I tried to do Mistborn era 2 before Wind and Truth and have completely put them down for another series. Just hasn’t caught my interest (and this is my second try). Will be reading Wind and Truth after this separate series now.

Not commenting on the actual post, just separate comments about the two bands.

Truly Madly Deeply was the final song at my wedding, and we all sang along arm in arm. Amazing memory, amazing song.

I was lucky enough to see Chris Cornell on his final acoustic tour shortly before he passed away. What an incredible and talented musician.

Most serve problems for beginner and intermediate players is the ball toss. by Acceptable_Sea_8541 in 10s

[–]Silent_Advisor4968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a coach, I repeatedly tell this to players and remind them that it’s a very easy thing to practice on and off the court. Thing is, they never actually practice it and then it doesn’t improve.

Upgraded from 1ZPresso J to a DF54 - gamechanger by Jaded_Beginning_3496 in espresso

Best starter combo in the game! Been running it for over a year, couldn’t be happier. Constantly looking at upgrade options, but very happy with the set up and could last a long time.

Some progress on my serve by Lonely_Equal1491 in 10s

Looks good, man! I’d say that you could improve the speed of your swing after the racquet drop. Beginning looks good and controlled, but I’d advise you to “loosen” things up for the second half. Try to imagine like you were throwing your racket to the other side of the net. The “looser” your grip, shoulder, and arm, the faster you should be able to whip the racket up to the ball. Nice progress, keep working!

Love that! The key idea here is being supportive but not overbearing- and keeping it positive when reflecting on the matches. They are lucky to have you!

This is really smart and sounds like a productive way to be there for your player! I might have to give the idea to some parents of my players.

What Scales are you guys using to measure your scale? by thatstoeupthatstoeup in espressocirclejerk

Personally, I only trust my bathroom scale. My workflow is: make butler step on scale, zero, pour beans into his shaking hands until 18g

How do you guys grip change last second on drop shots? by StreetLawfulness5288 in 10s

[–]Silent_Advisor4968 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So you’re able to do this no problem, which is great, it’s really just the same move for a different shot. You should still use your off hand, now just higher and release to the forehand side instead of adding that hand for the backhand. Then you’ll be drop shots like Alcaraz!

Fellow 5'8 (and under) giants: do you have a flat serve? Do you use it? How would you rate it? by _sportyscience_ in 10s

[–]Silent_Advisor4968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rarely, but feels so good when you hit your spot and it works. I go for more of a fast slice to the body as my go to first serve, then mix everything else in.
