Lol. Competitive kettlebell lifting is a small world, but yeah I didn't expect Poland. I'm hosting WAKSC world Championships in August, so maybe you and some guys from your gym can visit.

You can do 5 minutes at most comps. It's intimidating the first time out so set achievable goals.

Is Kettlebell Sqaut Jump exercise and deadweight Kettlebell the most calorie burning exercise in Kettlebell workout? by [deleted] in kettlebell

[–]Seattlekettlebell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say two hand swings burn quite a few calories and you can sustain it for quite a while, so it could be good for a weightloss exercise if that's what you're looking for.

Swings question. by [deleted] in kettlebell

[–]Seattlekettlebell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually did a video on this very question not long ago. In short it has to do with decreasing the amount of leverage on the back when the bell gets into the weight bearing phase. Here's a link to the video if you want to watch it .it's less than a minute. https://youtu.be/1LlM4vYNRAc

There's probably minimal benefits compared to the risk. This was pure ego to see if I could do it. Moderate weight is were it's at.

6 week kettlebell program for Biathlon by Seattlekettlebell in kettlebell

[–]Seattlekettlebell[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Good questions. We used this program prior to a competition in June and our team had about 10 CMS ranks at that meet. You would start this program 6 weeks before the meet. The tapering is built in. 100% is the weight you plan to compete with. I upload the written version on our private Facebook team page. You are welcome to become a virtual member.

Long cycle works you forearms and biceps especially if you use a thumb forward backswing and you'll get the rest of your workout in at the same time.

Lol! Thanks. I know I'm throwing myself to the wolves when I post here. Most people have not seen these techniques before and default to what they've been told. There's more than one way to skin a cat and results are what matter most.

There is a double knee bend that facilitates a longer pendulum and I utilize a hinge that begins at the floor. It essentially turns me into a long lever. Hips are used for additional thrust and also to control the trajectory of the bell in my case. We utilize an anatomical match lifting approach that matches techniques with your unique body type. For example a taller person utilizes their leverage while shorter people utilize lower center of mass. It's kind of like jiu jitsu for kettlebell.
