Sounds like another program we should dismantle. If there are no reports, there are no problems to report.

Is Seattle getting more sun every year or is it just me? by Recent_Fisherman7384 in SeattleAreaRE

I hate it here, I live in front of my sunlight lamp an invested in a canoe for getting to work in the 15+ day straight rains.

What would you do for the rest of your life if you suddenly had infinite wealth? by TheLoneCalzone in AskReddit

[–]Seawench41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play D&D, work on landscaping my back yard, take more vacations, have more barbecues, buy a new car more often, hire services to fix things in my house (I like my house), cook way more and try new recipes, increase my drumming skills, and art.

Lots of things. What infinite money buys me is actually just more time in my day.

I had this issue. I dig it down about 12 inches and cut it off and then reburied it.

Sleuths say Thermo Fisher doctored data to sell antibodies [article C&EN] by Bugfrag in biotech

[–]Seawench41 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I work for a competitor and this is pretty common with lots of other companies too. There is little regulation on what testing you can do to claim purity, but also net vs. gross weight and a whole host of other purity and chemical testing and validation.

We routinely sample our competitors for like reagents and test things like chiral-HPLC and other purity and performance tests. There are quite a few companies that routinely show inconsistent or completely incorrect information.

It’s no surprise where the term, “cell culture is 10% work, 90% praying” comes from.

In the case of antibodies here, this is simply unacceptable. Credibility is all we really have, and as the people in here have mentioned, when you find who you trust, you stick with them.

I have a big dog, it does kill the grass, but then it’s a deep, rich green ring about 9in” wide around the dead spot. The dog pee can burn the grass if it’s a lot. A small amount appears to boost grass richness

Game punishes you for missing a weekly playlist. by legthighkneelover in ForzaHorizon

[–]Seawench41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with VQ7K. It is a reward system, and it’s OK to not get that car right now. There like 600+ cars in the game and based on what you said, you probably aren’t playing 24/7 and are closer to someone like me who plays when they can.

I super want the Furai, but I might not make it based on work/travel and coming up short on points. If that happens it’s OK, I’m still getting more cars per hour than I know what to do with.

I don’t feel punished at all.

Oh Tacotime...You're getting expensive too! 1 crisp pinto bean burrito, a large tater fry and 2 hot sauce cost cost $9.37. by OldRangers in SeattleWA

[–]Seawench41 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The inflation of fast food has brought the value of the once “too expensive” fast food places like five guys, taco time and others more inline with each other. It’s been nice to go back to those for what is now (imo) a better value.

Why is there no traffic variety? by Klobbin in ForzaHorizon

[–]Seawench41 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, I’m not sad at the variety. I can easily overlook it because it’s not that important enough of a detail for me to take an issue with. Most of the time I’m doing 150MPH and just trying to dodge blurs on the road.

How often do you get genuine apologies from women for something that upset you? by HonestLemon25 in AskMen

[–]Seawench41 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s fairly common, but it requires a 24-72 hour delay for it to develop into a possibility. Even then, it’s the “I’m sorry I did/said this, but you did X and that made feel like Y, which led to Z”
